This course was designed really well
What a nice course! I was paired with 3 other guys and they were all super nice! Had a lot of fun and I will be back
Nice Course, Poor Pace of Play
Loved the value for the money, however this course, like most others in this area value over booked tee slots than quality and pace of play. Seems like in NE Ohio you either have to play before 7 am or after 7 pm or you’re going to be stuck out on a course the entire day anyway. No matter what time of year .
Sadly won’t be back again anytime soon
I play about 100 rounds a year. I’ve played over 100 courses in the area. Ironwood is the most overpriced and it’s not even close. It’s scenic, but the course is in rough shape, Tree removal is way past due, neglected tee boxes, burnt out fairways everywhere. The greens were nice but that’s about it. They don’t offer weekday or off season rates, ever. cool. Skip it. Too many other better options around.
Death March
Saturday morning tee times were given to 3 male/female foursomes some of whose members only played once or twice per year. This resulted in a 6 hour round (10:10 to 4:00) for our group. When told about the pace of play, the starter's reaction was ho-hum. They were no marshals on the course.
Six hour rounds are not fun. Shame on the management for scheduling this group on such a busy golf day!
Great Course
Played this course for an outing this past weekend. Fun course, challenging par 3s and reachable par 5s make it an interesting day!
What is That Other Guy is Talking About?
I play Ironwood 25-30 times per summer and have done so for the last 15 years.
The other review posted here is nonsense.
The fees for this place are incredibly reasonable. The golf course conditions are better than they ever have been; for the last two seasons they have been great! And Bob Brown and his staff are some of the nicest people I know.
In the fall of 2014, nearly every golf course in Northeast Ohio had a problem with skunks digging for grubs. To make this the reason for a negative review shows a lack of knowledge about golf course operations.
Ironwood is a fun, affordable, well-run course.
Way overpriced
Played this course weekly in a league over twenty years ago, has not changed much, but it has deteriorated considerably. Trees have overgrown tees, and fairways causing turf problems due to lack of sun and air. Fairways were thin and torn in up in many spots by raccoons or skunks digging for all the grubs in the turf. Much of the back nine is in a flood plain leading to wet fairways and signs to please stay on the cart path. The "$30 fall rate" was way too much for this course and conditions. Would not have played here if the wife had not had a gift certificate that we wanted to use. There are many courses in the area in better shape that charge a much more reasonable green fee.
