Crystal Springs Golf Club
About
Crystal Springs Golf Club tumbles across the rolling hills of western Muskingum County. The undulating terrain provides gently sloped greens and elevated tees from which there are scenic views of the surrounding countryside. The golf course has a links-style layout that will appeal to a variety of different skill levels. The ample greens vary in shape and the player-friendly fairways have generous landing areas. There are six ponds that come into play on half of the holes as well as nearly 40 strategically placed sand bunkers throughout. The course's signature hole is the par-4 ninth hole. This tricky hole features water along the right side of the fairway and green and out-of-bounds stakes along the left, as well as a large sand bunker lurking treacherously behind the green.

Awesome
Super challenging course.....just add a strong wind and it is a receipe for a tough day at the course.
Well-manicured
Overall a good course, very hilly, well manicured greens
Great course. Many challenging holes
I've played this course many times. It's not particularly long but there are several holes that have very challenging second shots. They keep the course in good shape throughout the year.
Fun Course
The course was manicured well, greens were fast, fairways in great shape. Great veiws.
I'll Be Back
Beautiful course with rolling hills. The greens were in very nice shape for so early in the season. The carts are newer and the owner was very accommodating. It was a very nice experience.
Nice Layout
Great Layout. No two holes are the same. Excellent condition !! Well manicured course !!
Great Day
It has been a couple years since I played the course, but found it very enjoyable again. Course was in excellent shape, green and plush. The only small problem that I found (very small), some of the tee boxes were hard. Broke a few tees trying to push them in. It was a fun round....highly recommend!
Great Course
Had a great time with the wife and a couple of my buddies.
Course is very challenging, and a great layout.
Nice course, but not much more...
This course in in excellent shape for August in a relatively dry summer, course played nicely, water became my enemy on a couple holes, but all in all had a great score even with 2 lost balls. The tiered tee-boxes are very nice, and offer great views. With some tweaking, maybe a clubhouse re-model, this is pushing it's way to a solid 4.5 star course. The blind shots are challenging, but the marker flags are ideally placed to give you the guidance you need to hit the ball WHERE it needs to go.
outstanding course
Pleasantly surprised at this gem of a course. Tees, fairways and greens were in great condition. Lots of ponds on the course, which were not covered in algae like most others in the area. I liked the fact that you could not hit driver on a lot of the tees. The only drawback was the gravel road leading off the main highway to the course. Loved it and will be back soon.
Fun to play, back nine neglected though...
Played this course for the first time and decided we liked it well enough that we booked another tee time a few days later and played again while in town. The front nine are in GREAT shape for how dry the area has been, but the back nine has seemingly been neglected, making it a little less enjoyable d/t the poor conditions, but the greens and tee boxes were ALL in good shape, with a nice fringe around each green.
An excellent course in a remote location
Be sure to use mapquest for directions, as you go on a partially paved road to reach the course. Minimal clubhouse amenities here. The course itself is wonderful, front nine is considerably hilly. Back nine flattens out somewhat. Fairways are tightly mown, and well defined. Greens are rolling, not overly quick. The course is really playable for ladies, only totaling 4,500 yards from the reds. Not overly long, as many tee boxes are raised. Two par 3s on the front are steeply elevated greens. I would definitely play it aain.
Forget the tee time
I scheduled a tee time for the foursome at 1:08 and arrived early. Upon getting clubs in cart and heading to first tee box I noticed 8 other carts parked waiting at the box. Obviously the staff working that day had no intention of honoring a tee time. We jumped to the back 9, with permission, and caught up with a group in front of us who said they had a 1:00 tee time and had been waiting on a large group put out in front of them.
The course was in great shape once we finally got out playing. Great day of golf once we got past the terrible time management of the staff
Great golf course
One of the best golf courses in central Ohio area.. Bent grass fairways and greens. Good mix of tough holes and holes that you can score on. Solid par 3s. Course is always in good shape. Keep the ball in the fairway, rough can coat you a shot. Which it should. Great golf course. Look forward to playing again.
Awesome course
Beautiful course lots of hills and valleys.couple of greens you can't see from the tee.lots of challenging shot a definitely place to play
Hard to describe
This course is hard to describe. Considering we haven't had any rain in the last month or so, it wasn't too bad, but it wasn't great. The greens were good, the tee boxes were very hard, some of the fairways were starting to get burned out, and the rough was totally burned out. It was obvious they were trying to make it better, but it looked like some of their fairway sprinkler heads were broken and being worked on. The layout of the course was pretty interesting as it is very hilly and allows for some beautiful views. Although not overly long, I liked the challenge of the holes - a shotmaker's course. There were a few blind tee shots and a few holes where you could actually drive through the fairway. That made it tough for a first time player without local knowledge. It was actually fun to play though. We got a great price on GolfNow, so it was a really good value.
Challenging, fun and fair
This is a very fun course to play. The layout is scenic and a good balance between challenging and fair. Weather conditions were very dry. Course was clearly affected, but not totally burnt and the greens were still healthy.
Great course layout
This is our home course and we play here a lot But the owner is slacking on the course maintenance and it's not as great as is was or could be
But still fun to play. No two holes look alike and brings new challenges to every hole
