Crystal Springs Golf Club
About
Crystal Springs Golf Club tumbles across the rolling hills of western Muskingum County. The undulating terrain provides gently sloped greens and elevated tees from which there are scenic views of the surrounding countryside. The golf course has a links-style layout that will appeal to a variety of different skill levels. The ample greens vary in shape and the player-friendly fairways have generous landing areas. There are six ponds that come into play on half of the holes as well as nearly 40 strategically placed sand bunkers throughout. The course's signature hole is the par-4 ninth hole. This tricky hole features water along the right side of the fairway and green and out-of-bounds stakes along the left, as well as a large sand bunker lurking treacherously behind the green.

Very enjoyable
The round was very enjoyable! The course is absolutely gorgeous! It was pretty damp with all the rain, but carts were still allowed off the path. The course is very scenic and every hole presents a new challenge. Even with some extreme elevation changes, the holes play fair and are not what I would call "tricked up." I would compare it to a longaberger except a little shorter, less trouble, and not quite as prestine. Eventhough the course was busy, we didnt have to wait on a shot the entire round. The only downfall to this course is the clubhouse and parking lot, but who really cares. I played the back tees and my father played the whites. We both found the round to be worth the 40 minute trip and would definately be back!
very nice course
I'm new to golfing and this was the a very amature friendly course but is I challenging for the more experienced golfer I had a great time playing there with my son the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and I will play there again.
A great day with my son!
It was a great summer Saturday. The course was fairly busy (1PM tee time). There was a 20 minute back up on the first tee, but after we started, the pace of play was fine. Fairways and greens were in good condition with a few wet spots in the fairways due to a lot of rain earlier in the week.
Pleasantly Surprised
I was looking for somewhere new to play on a Friday morning and the positive reviews for Crystal Springs helped me make my decision. I had an early morning tee time so I arrived even before the pro shop staff. Actually, they were a few minutes late but their friendliness immediately make me forgive the minor inconvenience.
This is a very nice course in farm country. The greens are quick and in really nice shape and the fairways are really nice. Be prepared for undulating greens, but their fair. You can tell the course is really well taken care of. I was impressed with the layout as there wasn't a single hole that I felt wasn't a "golf" hole. A paved cart path follows the entire course so there was never a concern about getting lost.
What makes this course worth a visit is the elevation changes. There are some great holes with amazing views making it a fun place to play. There is a fair amount of water to contend with but no bunkers. Actually, a few bunkers added and an upgraded clubhouse could really make Crystal Springs a destination in my opinion.
I would definitely recommend giving the course a try. The price is very good for what you get. In fact, later in the day I had another round at a different course and I told the three guys I was playing with about it. I know I will be back soon.
Worth The Drive!!!
I play each time I come into visit friends, this course is worth the drive....
Great course - a must play
While a 45 min drive for me, this course was completely worth it. Amazing elevation changes with scenic shots. Teeboxes, fairways, and greens all were in great condition. Will play again!
Must be able to place ball where you want to some holes tricky
Very nice course I play in several times a year .... Always enjoy it .... It's just a beautiful course all around ....
wish it was closer to my home
any day at crystal springs is a treat. the drive is an hour but i love the place. brought a friend who played
there for the first time and he was totally impressed.
it is panoramic, majestic, and beautiful maintained, and features a friendly staff. all through the round my friend kept saying, "now i see why we drove an hour to get here!"
just move it an hour west! AWESOME!
This course is hilly.
Almost all holes have character fairways and greens are in great shape . Water comes into play on 7 holes.
Where are the bunkers??
I love this coarse!!Wide-open hills all over the place, and fairly forgiving holes. This coarse would be excellent if they would replace the bunkers(used to visibly be there at one time)WHAT HAPPENED???Sand must have evaporated I guess.I want to come back next year and see some BUNKERS.But overall I love this coarse!
worth it
overall very good course, greens are in good shape and has a challenging layout
Plan your shots
The course has a lot of elevation changes and seemed like each shot (other than on the tee) were from un-level lies. Plan your shots accordingly and you can score well.
Hills Definitely Hills
Course is rough around the edges and no sand in traps. However, hit it in the fairways (they're decent) and you are fine. The greens are nice and they hold iron shots, a big plus. True mountain golf. Really helps to know the lay of the land. Lots of up and down tees and approaches. Worth a look, since there aren't many of these type of courses around Columbus. Very scenic. I will play again, and knowing where to place shots will help scoring next time (hopefully).
Beautiful setting
The greens run true ..not long but a challenging course.. We will play again for sure . Very friendly staff .. If you do not mind a little bit of a drive this is a hidden jewel
Great Place!
Beautiful hills and challenging shots. The course is not too long but makes you think with every shot. The landscape and setting are picturesque and the course was in good shape. A very nice getaway from crowded city courses.
Great course
Fun course yet challenging for all levels. Would love to see sand back in the bunkers. That is my only complaint. Will bump my "condition" rating up to excellent once that happens. Always enjoy my round here.
Nice course
Very nice course in great condition, except for several bunkers that they just "let go". Lots of hills so I wouldn't recommend walking. Don't go on Friday unless it's early morning or afternoon, because you'll be held up by a large group of retired locals playing their weekly skins game. Other than that no complaints.
Excellent Condition Good Value for Money!
We have been playing here for 6 years it was in the best shape to date. Greens, Tees, Fairways! Great deal especially for money.
i like the course a lot
