Best muni course greens...ever
BEST muni course you'll ever play. Superb greens! Modest elevation changes, some very narrow fairways, and creeks/lakes make for a challenge. The greens steal the show. First time playing but will drive the 2hrs again to play soon.
One of the Hidden Gems in NE Ohio
Great course and very walkable. Narrow and tree-lined with nice water hazards on several holes.
Some of the best greens in NE Ohio. True and consistent from hole to hole.
Very nice clubhouse with a full bar and good food, all fairly priced.
Lastly, one of the best and most friendly staff you will encounter.
Highly recommended.
Just my style
Would really like to play this course earlier in the day as we teed off at 6pm after a busy day and they got a few inches of rain very quick a few days earlier. Liked the layout because it let me spray the ball other than my ding-dong off the electric pole on the 8th. Would be a great walking course, pretty flat and close from green to tee.
I liked the distance and mix of the holes as I used a lot of my clubs in the bag and wasn't forced to do anything off the tee due to trickly doglegs or forced carries. Job well done designer and good job of superintendent staff to keep it look good, loved the idea of aerifiying the fairway and rough in obvious flooded area, has to help get it drier faster. Heads up, during our wait on the 7th tee, green tee, I emptied the divot fix box in all the divots so she is going to need a refill tomorrow AM. Go play this course golfers,.
Course should inform customers if they are not letting carts out.
Overall this course is not overly difficult, but every hole is somewhat unique with varying challenges.
We played in a constant light rain, and while wet out I was still surprised to arrive and find signs saying no carts would be allowed out, especially since there are cart paths along most of the course. We played the front 9 only as we were not prepared to walk, and it was not too bad.
If a course is going to close or decide to change an existing reservation, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle to call people that have reservations as we would have likely gone elsewhere. The few minutes of their time would have saved my brother a 45 minute drive to come up to this course.
Last, courses need to stop treating accuweather and weather channel like the bible. On this day, the light rain occurred for approximately 3 hours, then the weather was clear for the rest of the day.
Nice course
Course a little crowded off the start, could spread out tee times a little more. Also course could use a few more directional signs, I haven't played there in a few years and forgot where to go.
Overall friendly staff and course well taken care of.
Great course!
Beautiful day and a great track!
Good greens
Very nice greens! Very nice landscape!
Long day on a very nice track
The greens and fairways were in very good condition. Tee boxes were also in good shape. The staff was very friendly including a excellent job by the starter. The only beef is that they need a ranger to keep some kind of pace up to a tolerable level. Other than that it's a quality course for sure.
Greens and fairways are in very decent shape. Golf Pro and Starter were very friendly.
There were a number of challenging holes with water in play on a number of them. Well worth the 75 min drive!
Good course
Nice layout, good condition only small complaint is greens could be cut a little faster. If greens brought up to speed this track could be 5 stars.
Great course - Ellsworth Meadows
The course is in great shape thanks to all the recent rain. Well maintained. A must play even at regular rates - although discounts are the perks...
Always horribly slow
Overall an ok track. Was manicured nicely as it always is unfortunately the pace of play always makes me wonder why I come back. The layout has improved however the new holes really are out of character with the old holes which for me is a little awkward
Quit after 8 holes
Pace of play was horrible. Took 3 + hrs to make it through 8 holes. Obviously we skipped the last 10 holes and didn't even ask for a rain check. Why bother going back to that mess again.
It's too bad. Course was in great condition but it was hard to notice when there were 3 groups waiting at the tee box at all 3 of the par 3's
Pace
Every time we got to the next tee the group in front was still at the tee waiting. It took over 4 hours to play 14 holes. We left after 14 and did not play the final 4 holes. The people 4 groups in front of us were the ones holding up play. We noticed several times there was a hole and a half empty in front of this group. Someone needs to be out on the course monitoring this.
Nice place to play
There was not any food to eat, understand it is December and they probably didn't think we would be golfing. However, at least some hot dogs would have been cool.
The course was in great condition.
From tee to green the course was in excellent condition especially for the time of year. Course was tree-lined and some holes were quite challenging. We were 30 minutes late teeing off due to course overbooking tee times. We waited on nearly every shot at nearly every hole. 5 hours for a twosome to play (ride) 18 holes.
You'll want to return!
Course in great shape. All aspects, tee boxes, fairways, greens, and bunkers were all in excellent shape for this late in the year.Pace of play behind a threesome was very slow. Then they gave them a fourth for the back nine.
Booked us in the middle of a scrample
My buddy and I were flying thru the course- finished first 9 in about 1 hour 20 minutes- little did we know- when we got to hole 15- a senior citizen scramble let off. It took us 1.5 hours to finish the last 3 hole completely changing our rapid pace. We needed up finishing the round in about 3.5 hours. The course was sweet- but they should not let people ever book in the middle of a scramble. Definitely effected the pace/ flow/ moral of our round.
