Walden Ponds Golf Club

Second time playing this course. Had a great ime, the course itself was in fantastic condition from tee to green. The foursome in front us was a bit slow but we finished around 4.5 hours so not terrible.

It's a relatively simple layout, wide fairways and generous sized greens. The greens are quicker than most public courses in Cincinnati in my experience, which is where the challenge lies. Good number of bunkers that will keep you honest on approach shots.

The par 5 over the water is interesting (150y cary & then layup short of a creek on 2nd shot), and there's a short par 4 that doglegs a bit. #18 is cool, dogleg right with water down the right. Fun course that's not overly difficult or penal as long as you're not spraying the ball all over the place.

We played 18 holes in four hours, we were told we were slowing people up and ruining their experience, I told the young man that I paid just like everyone else and was not happy about being told to speed up.
The course was not worth the money I paid to play, also one hole was cart path only, I did not see sign, first time playing course, we were told by young man that it was cart path only, we obliged, folks behind us did not follow rules and use cart path only, and did not get confronted by the staff like I did, over all a very unpleasant experience and would not recommend this course to anyone.

My first time playing this course and overall it was great. My only issue and not that it was any fault to the staff, it’s Ohio! The weather is so unpredictable and the greens weren’t in the best shape considering it was 67 degrees, again not the fault of staff. Definitely a must play course with some some long drives and challenging holes.

Walden was in great shape for December. It was still a little wet from the all the rain last week, but that's to be expected this time of year. The greens and fairways were in great shape for the time of year. The rough isn't real long and kinda thin due to cold weather, so really good scoring conditions. Played by myself and made it around in about 2 1/2 hours.

For late Nov the course is in great shape, fast greens and a truly enjoyable experience as always

Great layout with fast rolling greens. Little cool out so the course was playing much longer than normal. Always enjoy playing and would highly recommend

Hadn’t played Walden Pond in about 15 yrs and I’m sorry I stayed away so long. For a mid Nov day the course was in great shape. Greens fast and fairways solid. Played in 3 hours 15 mins I will be back.

Walden is always fun to play. The only problem I ever have is the goose poop all over. Other than that the course is a blast and we'll maintained

I just don’t get what people like about this place. The layout is not great. Most holes are dead straight no doglegs. Only a few distinguishable holes. Just grab the same club for all the par 3’s because they are all the EXACT same distance. And the staff can definitely be more friendly I’ve read that in quite a few reviews. I experienced the same thing I guess. Just for the money they charge theirs other places to play in my opinion

Course in decent shape considering rain from previous day. Pace of play was terrible. No marshal to allow my twosome to move ahead of a slow playing foursome on front 9. Made turn and another foursome jumped ahead of us who were even slower. Frustrating round because you can’t get into any sort of rhythm as you play. Hit drive then wait with each shot. No Drinking water on course.

Course was in good shape considering how hot and dry it has been lately! Well worth the $30 greens fee. Played in under 4 hours, which is a little slow for a twosome, but got held up by an inconsiderate foursome for the last 6 holes. Overall an enjoyable round of golf.

I love seeing the reviews about the staff. It’s actually 2 people and I heard one was fired and rumor has it that the other one is close or gone. The bunkers do need lovin for sure. maybe the 2 Scrooge’s in the clubhouse too.

The course was in pretty good condition. There were grass clippings all over the fairways but probably because they weren’t able to cut the past couple days due to rain. One complaint was that they aerated one of the fairways and failed to mention this would be an issue. Overall, great course
