Atrocious experience
The course was not great last year, but it was cheaper and in better shape than this round. I would be shocked to learn that they watered the fairways or greens even once this year. Maybe they're selling it and trying to cash out. They overbooked, so there was a huge backup on every hole, and no ranger working, so there was nobody to speed up the slew of slow players ahead of us. Terrible, terrible experience. I will never play this course again, no matter how cheap it is.
This course needs repairs and upkeep
This was not my first time playing this course. The course has such potential but is poorly maintained. No signs showing where the next hole is. Little to no cart paths. Also, a lot of dead trees that have not been cleared. We won't be playing here again. Very little challenges, Even the sand bunkers had no sand in them but a lot of grass.
needs water badly and new greens.
worst greens i have ever putted on. everything else burnt out.
Will never return to this course ever.
This course as the worst course I have ever played. It looks like it hasn't been watered in 5 years. The greens had cracks in them like an earthquake had hit and were bumpier than the parking lot. Clubhouse is dark and dingy and filthy dirty.
this course sucks !
Most of the greens do not have grass, just dirt and moss. The fairways are dead brown grass. Every cart path is filled with pot holes. The back nine was very slow . I would never ever play there again. We got a good price and now I know why. Play anywhere else and you will have made a good decision.
Save your money,
I have played here many times before. Its never been a great course, but the greens were usually decent, and its never crowded and cheap. Well its now become so bad, its not worth playing for any price. There is no grass in the fairways, except crabgrass. The rest is dirt and hard as a rock. The sand traps have no sand, just packed down like concrete, with stones everywhere. Watch your steps walking in the rough, because you might stumble into one of the many hidden holes. Its a gopher paradise. The greens are the worst I have ever seen anywhere. There really is no grass, just bald or dead spots, with mold intertwined. Obviously they don't believe in watering or aerating. This looks like a future housing development, waiting to be had. Can't imagine how they can stay in business.
probably worst course in usa
I have never seen a more pathetic golf course! Burnt up fairways, rock hard tee boxes, and greens that are pure horrific!! Downed trees from a storm 2 months earlier lined edges of some fairways. On hole 13, the green was "under maintenance" with a hole in front of the green. Two circles surrounded the hole, which was thick crabgrass. I thought I was playing frisbee golf! I will never play there again!!!
Garbage
It has never been this bad over the years. The fairway was like hitting concrete. The greens weren't maintained at all. Proshop had nothing. Glad only paid $18 a person cause it was a disgrace.
Crab grass
$45 is way too much money to play here. If you can get a cheap deal, then by all means go play, but it's not much of a golf course. There are many other courses to play for the same price that are in much better condition.
They should be EMBARRASSED to charge ANY amount to play there!
I played this course for the first time in 05/2014 and the course was in decent shape. I played 8/9/2014 and I was HORRIFIED by what I experienced. Apparently, they don't irrigate and they just don't care! Rock hard tee boxes, difficult to sink a tee. Rock hard fairways. PATHETIC greens, if you can even call them greens! Dirt, bare spots, crabgrass growing thru, cracked & brittle from lack of maintenance. 13th green is "under repair" so there's a pin stuck in the grass with concentric circles painted for 1, 2, 3-put...RIDICULOUS. I WANT A REFUND and I WON'T ever go back!
Where do I even begin?
If read the posts below. You probably already know. This is by far the worst course to play in South Jersey...EVER. All greens were absolutely awful. Not one worth writing home about. 13th green was under repair, as all the greens should be in my opinion, but they literally put a cup in some grass and mowed as low as a Toro push mower could go. We didn't even play the hole. We picked up, scratched the hole and moved on.
Tee boxes might as well have been rock. It is also easy to lose your ball...if you hit a beautiful fade down the left of the fairway and it bounces to the rough, you will spend a good 10 ten minutes trying to find it because there are random holes in the ground which are easily camouflaged by crab grass. Sand might has well have been gravel. the 10th hole is 12 club lengths away from the driving range. Which means when you play 10, there are constant balls raining on you like hail. YOU ARE NOT SAFE.
Needless to say, I will never play there again. In protest, I drove my cart onto the green on the 15th I believe. You would have no idea i did it because the greens were so hard.
Greens are pathetic with lots of geese feces
The course conditons are atrocious especially the greens. I am glad I only paid $14.00
this course is in terrible shape
I have golfed here a few times and the course is in the worst shape ever.im done playing here!! they don't care about the conditions of the course.i played 18 holes and landed on grass about 6 times.
Needs outside management help!
could be great course with some guidance!
Tee boxes need help! Greens are in terrible shape! Recent storm damage, down trees, piles of vegetation still on course. Not surprised by course condition considering the lack of up keep going from parking lot to pro shop, not an inviting first impression.
Great time even with storm damage
We had a great time. There was storm damage that you can tell they are working on but the greens were nice a big, course was wide open and we had a blast.
Quick round
Course was ok great that I got around in 2.5 hrs and the price was right
ok if you're paying $20
It's an okay course if you are only paying $20. greens were decent but rest of the course was lacking upkeep.
Freeway good iron play on back nine is key to a nice round
Subpar club house food selection average course conditions above average greens good the fairway roughs are tall difficult to find golf ball
If not on fairway
Freeway
The staff is friendly, but the course is hurting. It was difficult to determine where the fairways were. After tiring of constantly hitting the ball off of bare patches, we agreed on a "lift, clean, and place" rule that allowed you to find a piece of grass from which to hit your shot from the fairway. The greens were virtually un-puttable as the ball didn't roll but rather bounced its way toward the hole.
If you're not worried about conditions and you just want to work on your game a little bit, it's not a bad place to play at the GolfNow discounted rate. The quality of golfer you get there is fairly poor and there's not much in the way of etiquette observed (e.g., we had a twosome jump in front of us on the back nine without even acknowledging that we were on the course, and there are a few tees that are side-by-side where no one bothers to determine whether they should temper their enthusiasm for the round until you finish your backswing.)
That being said, it was a nice day. The pace of play was fine on the front nine and only a little slow on the back because of the queue jumpers, and every so often it's not a bad idea to play shots from less than perfect lies in order to practice doing that - although it would be nice to occasionally get some grass under your ball.
Won't be back
I've golfed Freeway a few times through the years, but never have I seen it this bad. You would be hard pressed to find one blade of grass on the fairways between the weeds and clover. It appears that the owner doesn't care about his customers or he would work on the course. The only positives I saw is that the greens were half decent and they bought about 5 new carts ( there very quick, helps you get out of there faster). It would be alright if they charged what the course is worth, about $20.00 dollars. Oh yeah, you have to put sand in the sand traps to call them sand traps not dirt and rocks. Sad......
The dates above are incorrect, they should be this year, 05/2015 and 8/9/2015.
