Unexpected Find
The course write-ups and pictures do not do this course justice. The first 12 holes reside on the best portions of the property. These holes felt like a roller coaster of tees and greens that weaved up / down / around the hills and valleys and I did not want it to end. The last 6 holes are back and forth on the flatter land, but considering the first 12 holes, it was still a very good day on the course.
This course was an unexpected find and worth a play if in the area and you want a course with elevation changes and some fun golf holes.
Good job greens crew
Course condition greens and fairways was probably the best I’ve played locally this year.even better than some Columbus courses you’d expect to be better. The greens crew has done a great job. Staff is always friendly and again for the price it’s tuff to find a course in better shape. Front 9 layout is pretty interesting, back 9 feels like you are hitting the same 2-3 clubs over and over on each hole. They do need to get a ranger on weekends. Course gets busy and groups will jump on where ever they want and will not let faster golfers play through.
Nice
Nice course. Interesting layout of holes and greens.
Fun course
Franklin Valley is a fun course to play. The front is short but requires precision off the tee with various club options. Plus, the par 3's are pretty challenging. The back requires you to hit the driver well, it is much longer than the front. So, Franklin Valley tests both your accuracy and your length, plus it's hilly terrain creates challenges.
Well taken care of.
Friendly Staff
Good value. Course condition great for early spring. Clubhouse staff friendly and helpful.
Greens pretty smooth. Bunkers not maintained yet.
Fun Golf
Very enjoyable and Great day for Golf, I would recommend this course.
Local
I play at Franklin valley 5 to 6 times a week. Decent course usually kept in very nice condition but seems like every once in awhile the staff slacks off on the overall condition of the course. League nights are horrible bc they never tell you if the league will play on the back or front so it's a toss up. Overall it's a nice course and holes 2,3,9,18 will be very challenging for any handicapper.
Birdie
Good course some dry areas that are recently new. The fring could use some work on most holes but the greens play decently soft.
good shape and fast play
The course was in the best condition I have seen in year's ...the greens and fairways were well maintained.
Not sure if the entire Staff appreciate the value of the Golfnow discount program. A group of 5 mysteriously end up on the 1st tee in front of our group of 2 and 5 minutes past our starting time .
The group did allow us to play thru on 1 so it made for a nice round in 4 hours
Really nice condition
Place looked great played great, greens maybe a little slow, but rolled very true.
This course is in very good condition
Great course to play. I don't like the layout of 13 - 18 of being straight and right next to each other, but I will play it again.
Hidden Jewel
Great course, very beautiful setting. Greens were outstanding and course as a whole was in great shape. And we were following a huge outing for Veterans. Staff was friendly and couldn't do enough for you.
aeration
Back nine closed for aeration. Front nine had been aerated previously and putting was inconsistent. Fairways beginning to die due to lack of rain. High school team jumped in front of us when we had 3 holes to play.
Sunday plY
Course was in good shape, pace of play was really slow. Group in front of us was a foursome that watched and players hit beside the ball and they were always far away from each other. Staff member was very nice but hot dog was Luke warm at best
Nice Course
The course was in good shape. Greens were fast but held good. Staff needs to be a little more friendly.
Great course for the money
Greens were great fairways were good but needed mowed rough was way to high but overall a challenging course would definitely play it again
Go play this course
Franklin Valley is such a great golf course. I wish I had enough money to play there every day. It has nice cut fairways and fairly tall roughs. The staff is really nice and their range is amazingly big. The overall design of the golf course is really great, how the trees outline the fairway and bunkers are placed by the greens. Overall this is one of the best golf courses I have ever played.
