Out in God’s country
Just don’t get there before your tee time because it
Irritates the woman behind the counter. Even though you might be the only one on the course like I was.
Pleasantly Surprised
Was not expecting much after reading reviews for Pheasant Run. Some people just have too high of expectations, I guess. Staff was very friendly, carts have seen better days, but still do what they are supposed to do. Tee boxes were above average, fairways good, greens were shaggy. Talked to the gentleman changing cups, and he said they were not cut today due to the greens being sprayed. Thats understandable. Front nine is the original nine, a bit tighter but not restricting, with smaller round greens. The back nine is more open with greens about double the size of the front. Being more open the wind has much more of an impact on the back nine. The course is supposedly owned by the Spitzer Auto Group, and is not really high on their priority list, leading to a tight budget with a short staff. I don't know how many cars they sell in a year. Probably somewhere in the tens of thousands thru their multiple dealerships, just imagine if they took $1 from each sale and put into the course for small improvements. Pheasant Run would then be able raise green fees a tad, along with increased play from the improved conditions and be totally self sufficient with much better playing conditions. I drove over an hour to try out this course, and it was well worth it.
It all depends on expectations
We always have fun playing regardless of the course, let’s just say this is not a course we’ll play again
Yikes
Course was covered in dead grass from waiting too long to mow. Had at least 3 mowers on course on a Saturday around 10:00 and they didn’t stop mowing when you were nearby and about to take a shot. Rough was patchy and long. Kinda like playing out of a poorly kept front lawn. Really disappointed.
All around nice
Friendly staff. Very reasonable green fees. Good prices for beverages and food. Rest rooms were very clean. Despite all the heavy rains the course was in good condition. Cart paths could use an update but not all that bad. A few traps would make it more challenging. Great course for seniors. I,ll be bock!!!!
Would play again
For $14 it was what you paid for but wouldn’t play again. Not mowed, all the ponds were almost empty. No a very challenging course.
Looking nice
Course has greatly improved. When I came in today it was nice to see this course in good shape. The manager Frank was extremely friendly. Overall it was a good day and I look forward to coming back.
Nice course
Live close by. Very nice course. Well kept and watered.
Friendliest course around
I've played here a few times each season over the past several years. I've never not been thanked for my business and made to feel appreciated. The course itself is basic Lorain county public golf, no complaints. Pace of play was outstanding and this was a good golf value.
Soft sponge greens
Open layout for the most part, very flat, nicely mowed, and very sponge slow greens.
very nice course
Fairways=excellent. Greens were recently spiked but still in good shape though some a little bumpy. Very nice course
Great course!
Like playing here! Great condition today! Only thing was the ball cleaners were very stagnet and smelled bad, I let staff know, other than that great time good value!
