The Players Club at Foxfire Golf Club
About
Foxfire Golf Club boasts 36 holes of championship golf, the Foxfire Course and the Players Club Course. The Players Club was added in 1993.The layout is a deft combination of traditional American golf and traditional British links design that provides the perfect complement to the original. The golf course is the more challenging of the two, but not by much. The layout features narrow fairways lined with trees and water hazards on eight holes. There are three particularly tricky carries over water. Strategically placed bunkers and contoured mounding also treacherously lurk by the greensides. The par-4 16th hole is the course's signature. This demanding hole plays uphill through trees to a green that is guarded by five bunkers. The most memorable hole though, might be the par-5 eighth, which features the longest sand bunker in the Midwest.

Nice course but quite difficult
The fairways were a joy to hit out of, but are very narrow and surrounded by very thick rough, as well as lots of water and sand.
Great layout, needs fertilizer
Maybe one of the best layouts surrounding Columbus
Unfortunately, I saw way to many dandelions, the grass around the greens on the fairway looked cancerest, the bridges still need rebuilt, and the cart path was in rough shape, just like last season
Since they sold the land for housing development, I was expecting more, up to date changes.
disappointed in the course
for the price you pay, it’s is no where near what it should be. would take a lot of improvement to return.
Worst conditions in central Ohio
The greens were average for this area so not an issue. The fringe around every green was 80% bare dirt. The bunkers haven't seen maintenance in weeks (grass growing in areas). The fairways on some holes had 10% grass coverage in the landing areas. Tees were OK for the most part but who cares when you tee the ball up. Overall the worst conditions I've seen on any course in central Ohio and the green fees are at the higher end of the pricing spectrum. Green fees would not tempt me even at half the current price. I don't enjoy poor conditions enough to make the drive.
Total Garbage
First of all, there are bots posting high rating to raise the average rating of this course. There is no way this course can be higher than one star. Fairways and Greens were all chewed up. None of the bunkers were playable, totally abandoned and full of rocks and weeds. I haven't played a course this bad in many years and for $50 it's a total ripoff. Check out the pic of #16 tee box. A lot of holes looked like this.
Terrible Value
$50 for a round. Chewed tee boxes and greens, patched out fairways. Bunkers werent even playable.
Sad. Quickly becoming unplayable
What’s happened to this once-great course is really sad. The course conditions started going downhill about 4-5 years ago, but now they are completely deplorable. Every tee box is almost 100% dirt. Most fairways are completely burned out and lacking grass. The fringe is gone on every green. The greens themselves are rock hard and can’t hold a ball even from a short iron. It’s obvious that there hasn’t been a drop of water applied to the course in quite some time.
I was hopeful that the recent sale of the Foxfire course would’ve pumped some money into this course, but sadly it seems to be the opposite. It’s obvious that they are doing nothing except mowing the grass (in the few places it still exists) these days. Really sad, the course layout is one of the best in Central Ohio, but without a serious turnaround in the next year or two, I don’t see how they can remain open much longer.
Photo below is of the 18th fairway. Sadly, this is how the fairways look on almost every hole.
Awful Condition High Price
Do not waste your time with this drag track. Should cost $20 to play here tops. The course was extremely bad when I played.
Used to be pristine now its sad to play here
Foxfire Players Club used to be a beautiful course to play. Now, the course is tired, well worn and you can tell management is no longer spending money to improve or at least maintain the course.
