A must play if you like mountain courses

The views were spectacular. Fairly narrow fairways with large elevation changes and many doglegs.
The greens were in great shape and fast. As with most courses these days, the sand traps had not been raked lately and the sand was hard. Well worth the ninety mile drive drive each way. We ate at a wonderful mom and pop restaurant in Cambridge on the way home. GREAT DAY.

Hilly, but fun

No flat holes, no flat lies, but a nice layout and very pretty scenery. Fun to play at least once or twice a year and a great value with the GolfNow Hot Buy. The greens were pretty fast for mid-October with less grass on the greens - downhill putts were a severe challenge. Saw at least a half-dozen deer and other wildlife.

Beautiful Course

I loved this course!!! We have had alot of rain so it was cart path only which is usually fine except for the hills..lol
I played during the week so I played it in just under 3 hours. There are alot of blind spots and up its very hilly. I Like it though. Greens were perfect and fast. Just a little tricky!!! Have Fun!!!!!

Beautiful hilly course

This is a wonderful, challenging course. Course is very well laid out and very simple to understand where the fairways head. Fairways are very hilly, so if you don't like the long slog uphill this might not be the course for you. Greens and fairways are in great condition. Short rough was so thick that it hides the ball.

Salt Fork

I've played this course hundreds of times. First time playing using Golf Now. Paid $10, normal is $36. This is a beautiful course, just hard. There are very few easy shots and very few straight holes. Lots of blind shots. Ball placement is very key here. Lots of hills and uphill/downhill/sidehill lies. The course itself is always in good shape. Greens are very tough. Bunkers are never good though. The lodge is also a very nice place.

Not recommended for seniors or women

This course is too long for seniors and women. Given the extreme elevation and very difficult greens, the course needs to be shortened.
The driving range is a joke, and was not maintained.
There was no starter and no ranger, so the pace of play was about 5 1/2 hours.
Several holes need longer flag sticks so the flag can be seen from the fairway.
The food at the lodge was very good.

good early season shape

Course was looking pretty decent for the amount of rain we recently received. Bunkers need work, but still waiting for more April showers that would likely wash out anything you could do for them at this point. Played 18 holes w/ cart for $13.49 on golfnow rate, and finished in about 2 hrs and 45 min. while not hurrying in the slightest! Had a good day!

Best Course in the Area

A challenging course with lots of doglegs. Very hilly and you seem to always be hitting from a slope, but this just adds to the challenge. Greens and fairways are excellent. Greens are not too fast and not to slow. The course is well kept and is rarely too busy. You may shoot 5 over what your normal score is but it’s still a great course. Fun to play!

Mountain Golf

Extremely difficult. Dramatic elevation changes.
The greens were excellent. The bunkers were in need of sand and rake. NOT a good place to take a new player.

Bring your A-game

This is a great course with fast undulating greens. Some of the fairways are tight and several holes have carries off the tee that require knowing relatively exact yardages. When playing this course for the first time don't let a high score discourage you!

Short yet difficult course

The course was in amazing condition! First time I had played the course so it was difficult to pick the correct lines off the tee. Greens were very smooth and rolled true, not super fast but not slow.

You'll never have a flat lie here!

Salt Fork is an excellent state park course. Immaculate conditions both fairways and greens. The course plays far longer than the card calls for, as most holes have elevated tees, and then a further elevated green. Virtually all holes have forced carries, with large trees on both sides. An erratic driver would create a very high score.

I don't believe anyone would want to walk this course, due to the elevation. This is a very nice course, if you can get a golfnow hot deal

salt fork.

I'd heard of the park. Not the course. I was surprised. Its not as good as it could be but has some fun holes.

Tees ok
Fairways have potential
Greens potential

If it had more money it could be special.
