great shape
very fun to play very nice greens i will play here more its close to home
Not bad.....needs improvements...
Not a bad course but the fairways need cut about an INCH shorter and the rough needs cut about an INCH AND A HALF shorter to speed up play. you spend too much time looking for balls in the rough. Just cut it a little shorter to keep the pace of play up and this would be a lot more enjoyable course to play.
own a mower
Every hole there was no difference between the rough and the fairway. Hit balls in the fairway and can not find them. Found over 10 balls looking for ours. Greens were nice; setup was good but other than that course was not mowed.
Rough and Rough
The front 9 was horrible. Grass clipping in the fairway which made it seem like the rough. If you hit in the actual rough, little chance of finding your ball.
Improved golf course
This course has improved immensely over the last few years. Plenty of hazards and you hit every iron in your bag.
vista
this course is somewhat of a challenge it's mostly flat so yardage is hard to read .plays longer than it is.there is some spots where there was construction for drainage but in all a good course
Course was in great shape!
The folks at Vista have done a really good job with this course in the short time they've had it. Fairways were in good shape, they've added some much needed new sand & the greens were excellent! Most of the holes have very nice signage at the tee box. I'd like to see signs on every hole with or without a sponser. Overall we were very happy with the course!!
Condition of course continues to improve
I've played this course a few times this year. Although I do like playing it. There are a couple things that could make playing it more enjoyable. The fairways are a little bit too high they could be cut like a inch shorter. I've noticed in the fall they don't let you play off the tee boxes, i'm confused as to why they start doing this so early. They need a ranger who goes around and checks the pace of play on the course, twice now this year I had to wait behind groups and there's no one ahead of them and they don't offer to let me Play thru. But overall I really enjoyed playing this course
Depends on what you're looking for in a course
I used to play this course 25 yrs ago when drinking beer was the first consideration, then golf. It's in much better shape now, and I like some of the things they're doing with the pavilion and a couple of food vendor stands, however.......I could barely tell the difference between the fairway and rough. That becomes a real challenge when there isn't a sign with the hole layout on the tee box (about half the holes) or scorecard. I get it, blue grass fairways aren't going to be as nice as bent grass, but they need to cut it. The greens although nice and healthy need cut and rolled. They'll hold an approach shot like glue, but the length of the grass and the sponginess takes out the break and the ball doesn't roll true. It's also an extremely flat course. You won't have any shots that are above your feet or below, which could be good or bad depending on your point of view. With the exception of the white and blue tees, there are no other real tee boxes. The gold, red and pink tee boxes are simply markers further up in the fairway.
This is probably a fun course for locals participating in leagues and getting together to socialize, it was for me too back in the day. Also if you want to relax, wear what you want, and not worry that the guy behind you thinks you have no business golfing, this might be the place, but it's not a destination course for out of towners.
Excellent greens, but fairways are rough
This course has very good greens, but the balance of the course needs some attention. Fairway grass was rather long, with a lot of bare spots.
This course is extremely long (6,400+) from the white tees, with a huge reduction in yardage at the next set (5,100). Reds are less than 4,200 yards. I would like to have seen less of a difference between whites and golds.
fast paced course
Was a good challenge. When I went it had a few swampy areas due to previous rainfall but they did a good job roping those areas off. Overall was a great time!
grounds improvement
The new owners are improving the grounds. In another year, it should be a great value - unless the drougt continues.
