I love the layout of his course
The facilities are a little out dated, but the course is overall in decent shape.
Bad! Too slow! Too wet!
5.5 hours is just too much time to take for a round. The course was only marginally playable due to below average drainage. I will only head out this far again during a drought!
Course in Good Shape
The course is in good shape. The greens were real nice and putted true. Some interesting holes such as #8 which is very challenging. The course is pretty long making it very challenging if you don't hit the ball long. Felt is was a good value. Will play there again.
Don't play the course on holidays - too crowded
The course was very, very busy but the starter still let twosomes out. There were two twosomes just ahead of us and the ranger/starter did not make them pair up!!! It took over 5 1/2 hours to complete the round.
Punderson
The course has a lot of grass and decent greens, but it is a swamp, literally (I think it was built in a swamp or wetlands). I did play 2 days after some serious rain, but it had not begun to dry out and there was no end in sight. Also, I played early morning. I like courses that have 7 am or earlier tee times, but only 11 of the 18 greens had been mowed and it basically alternated from mowed to not cut. There are some challenging holes, but it is mostly wide open. If I ever play it again, I will take my high handicap buddies and only if it has not rained in a couple of weeks. Good course for beginners and if dry it should have better than average conditions, especially at the price.
Fun challenge.
I've played there twice and it is a fun course to play. Plenty of sand traps to Challenge, plan a lay shot, greens fun to read. Any golfer will enjoy. Well kept.
Drainage so bad
This course by nature has very poor drainage. Even after one full day from past rain, the course was terrible both in fairways and green. All WATER!!!!!
But when it becomes dry, I think this is a funny course to enjoy within a resort setting.
Wet conditions make this a VERY long course
Have played here many times. Played from the white tees. But I never hit a short iron into the green on nearly all of the holes despite hitting many fairways. We did have heavy rain two days before. And that added to the length of the course. But the gap between 6600 yards from the white and 5900 from the Senior is too much. Whites should be shorter. Especially when you consider the course does not drain particularly well.
Great course that makes you use every club in your bag
Great course that i played very well at. Got lost finding the place so i was right on my tee time explained to the guy and at the counter and understood completely. I went after we got a week of nonstop rain so not sure the greens are always as slow as they were that day but the layout is great, pretty long course and challenging I really enjoyed it definatly want to play here again.
punderson review
Always have enjoyed playing punderson,Staff is very kind and fees are very inexpensive. However the course still drains poorly and greens are slow. Used to playing Fowlers Mill and Stonewater. The roughs were dissapointing also as they do not pick up grass clipping and clumps of cut grass were everywhere. We played for $28 though and sometimes you get what you pay for.
Fun course despite being under water
Extremely wet the day I played but when you get 5 inches of rain in four days you can't expect it to be dry. Course isn't short but most of the length is in the par 5's, A lot of the par 4's range from 370 to 420 . Pretty forgiving course not a lot of trouble off the tee. Greens were in good shape fairways were nice despite a few not being cut cuz of the wetness. Overall it's a good course
Great value
The best greens I've played on in years. Loved the course, long but playable. I would play this course everyday and twice on Sunday if I could.
Pleasantly surprised
The course was in great condition and had just the right length to make for a great round. The staff was friendly and made me feel like a return visit was welcomed. I will definitely be back!
