Hueston Woods Golf Course
About
Hueston Woods Golf Course sprawls across over 260 acres of lush, rolling terrain. It plays to a beastly length of just over 7,000 yards from the back tees. Jack Kidwell, a designer who had a hand in many of Ohio's finest courses, created the course. It borders hundreds of acres of beech and maple forests that are accented with colorful wildflowers and provide a home to the area's wildlife. Kidwell utilized this rich and beautiful landscape to mold a scenic and challenging design. The layout features large, wildly undulating greens bordered by over 30 strategically placed bunkers. Four ponds also come into play on several holes and golfers will also have stands of mature trees to contend with. Hueston Woods' signature hole is the par-3 16th. This 175-yard hole requires a demanding carry over water.

nice course but...
Tees, fairways & greens are in good shape, but the bunkers need a lot of work. Basically unplayable.
Great day
My wife and I played together and totally enjoyed the course. We have to drive 37 miles one way to play here but the time and gas are well worth it. The tee boxes make this course a challenge for all types of golfers. My wife like the forward tees. With all the rain the course is in great shape. The greens were hard and true, we both liked putting on them. The electric carts are smooth, quiet and comfortable. Will probably go again.
Good tournament course
I last played this course several years ago, now it is tournament quality. Tees, fairways and greens good condition. I play senior mini-tour events and this course has the layout and quality of greens of most any private golf club. The sand bunkers could use some additional drainage.
NIce course
Took my brother in law from Canada to play, it was a good round with very nice weather conditions. The greens were in great shape.
decent shape
The course is in good shaper. The greens are very true. This course has lost some of its difficulty because of the loss of many, many ash trees.I would go back.It is a jaunt from any metropolis.
Relaxing afternoon
Nice course but takes some effort getting to. Worth the effort. Par 3s are challenging and will test you.
great course / value
the loss of so many ash trees has made the course more manageable for the average golfer. better stay on the fairway as the second and third cuts will eat your lunch.
State Park Benefits
Played an early afternoon round as a twosome and paired up with two fine gentlemen to make foursome. Thanks to Harvey and Ron for making our round very enjoyable. For November, the course was in very good condition, tees well grassed, fairways plush, rough fair, and greens rolled true. Course has experienced the emerald ash borer problem and several trees were felled last year and stump removal being done now. Got a great rate on Golf Now, limited concessions at this time of year, but staff very friendly. Course located inside state park with many facilities, including lodge with restaurant which we ate at after round, the beef brisket is very good and fireplace very warming. Rooms at lodge or cabins and camping makes for a nice weekend or extended stay weekly with many amenities other than golf. We always enjoy the trip from Cincinnati to this college town with a great state park and a very good and challenging golf course. We will be back for many more rounds.
Great value and in great shape
As always a great course and views!!! Great value for the cost.
Grea courset
This is a great course - plenty of challenge and with excellent greens that are smooth, fast, and very contoured. As it's in the country the course is easy to get on and not crowded, but it is worth the drive!
Great Value
Course is in great shape! It plays fairly easy if you stay out of the woods which is easier nowadays with quite a few Ash trees lost to the Emerald Ash Borer. It also have many doglegs (room) to the right which help the average player. There was one green that had bad spots around it (making me chip rather than putt to get on) that's it, all else is perfect, tee-box to green!
Like playing in a forest
First time that I have played this course and totally enjoyed the round. The course was in great condition. It seemed like every hole was a dogleg right with trees demanding that you stay on the left side of the fairway. This is a long flat course which you could walk. Hole #11 is 541 yards par 5 from the whites. It even has with a hidden pond in front of the green and it was only rated as the 3rd hardest hole!! I thought I hit a prefect third shot just short of the green only to find it must of landed in pond that I never saw until I got within 100 yards of the green. Only one of par 3 hole was less than 180 yards from the whites. Greens were fast but true with several tough pin placements. All of the bunkers needed sand. Can't wait to play it again.
With all of the trees on this course I would never try to play this course in the fall unless you are prepared to lose a lot of golf balls.
Great Course
The golf course was in very good condition. Fairways were greens and properly maintained and the green rolled very true. It is a little bit of a drive from Cincinnati but it was worth it for me. I highly recommend this course!
$30 for two players. You can't bet it!
Snagged a deal for a noon tees time for my son in law and I. We are far from par golfers but were done by 4 pm. We even let a single play through. Course is in good shape even though the rough hadn't been cut yet that day. That's why you're suppose to stay in the fairway .. Right? Great fun and you can treat without going broke.
Great course
Nice course. Not too easy not too tough. Greens were slow, but smooth. Carts are a little rough. One of the worst brats ever.
Great course
Have not played the course since I left Miami U. Twenty five years ago. Friendly staff, excellent food and the course is extremely well groomed and in excellent shape. I wish I lived closer.
Great course for the mondy
Great pace, large fairways, just a really nicely maintained course. You have some stumps and trees, but nice mix of pars and dog legs...
Good course to enjoy golf
It was my first time to play there but I was impressed the course vry much. I played with my friend from white tee and it was good distance for an average golfers. However, I rated the overall rating just 4 stars because the par 3 hole over a lake made us a little bit nervous. It needs 170 yards carry shot to avoid the lake and there is no other way to go to the green. If there would be a alternate way, I could rate it 5 stars. We enjoyed this course very much other than that.
