High Lands Golf Club is one of the most affordable private clubs in central Ohio. It also boasts one of the most challenging layouts of the private courses in the area. The versatile design appeals to players of all skill levels and four sets of tees further allows golfers to adjust the games to their abilities. Beginners and intermediate players won't feel out of place since the golf course is not too hazard-heavy, but there a few strategically placed bunkers, tight fairways, and the occasional water hazard that will appeal to golfers looking to really hone their skills. In addition to the course, High Lands offers an expansive driving range with both natural grass tees and all-weather tees as well as five target greens. There is also a practice bunker and two practice greens, one for putting and one for chipping.

Private Course, Public Persona
Most tee boxes are in good shape...some need work. Fairways are generous and in good shape, but not flat from tee to green, which is great. The greens are in excellent shape, very small, and therefore can prove difficult to hit (GIR). Challenging putting, as greens are never flat (that's a plus!). Quite a few "blind shots". Will need to play again to become familiar with the course. Some signage needs to be moved (10th tee sign faces away from approach players.
Holes 16-18 are on the other side of the parking lot (no signs). Carts are gas powered rather than electric (odd for a private club). There is a bar, but no pro shop that I could see (no shirts, logo balls, etc). You check-in with the person at the bar. Extremely friendly staff...members are nice as well. I'm not a member, but booked a tee time through GolfNow.
Overall, not a bad place to play, but I expected it to be a bit more "upscale", since it is a private club. Best bet: Build a pro shop, expand the green size, go public.
Play more than once
Played for the first time with my son. Looking forward to playing the course again, and again after that. All around great course. The first time gives you an appreciation of the design. My next round will give me an appreciation of the knowledge I gained in the first round. I want another chance to post a score now that I know how to manage my round on this fair but challenging course.
Great course
greens were in great shape, great layout very challenging, very scenic. Staff very friendly the clubhouse. definitely want to play it again
Excellent Course
High Lands is a challenging course with a good variety of holes. You need to use most all of the clubs in your bag. The greens are in excellent shape and moderately quick. The bunkers need some work and a few are in disrepair.
The staff is very friendly.
Great course. In very good shape. Staff very friendly
great time
this course is awesome.i don't get to play courses this nice because i'm cheap.15 to 20 hot deal.it was quite a treat.even my fickle buddies love it.make sure you pay close attention to the map of the on the back of the scorecard.some granite pictures of the hole on the tee would help.some holes you can't see the pin from the tee.so you have to look at the map.slows things down.great time.can't wait till next sunday.
Hidden Gem
I never even knew this course existed before seeing it on golfnow.com. I was surprised to see a private course had opened its doors to the public, but once i got there, boy did i feel lucky. The course was pristine and the staff were wonderful. Lots of great views from the tee box and throughout.
