Great before & getting better!!!
Me and a few friends like to do The 3 par, then relax with a nice glass of wine... they have done some great upgrades to the property and I'm really looking forward to the driving range they're installing. Beautiful courses in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park area.
Great course.
One day will figure out back nine.. Front nine has filled in nicely
interesting layout
Great layout not so great condition... back 9 is crazy bring extra balls.
Great course
Everything was in good shape and everything went well.
Horrid conditions
It felt like their greens keeper quit last year and were yet to replace him/her. The conditions on the back nine were terrible! It's a shame too, because this course has the potential to be awesome. There are some really cool hole layouts, but the grass was dead, the sand traps were filled with mud and there is no distinction between fairways and rough. On one of the par 3 holes you have to tee off from a driving range mat! I mean come on!!!!!
It was ok.
It had a few cool holes. They had some cool elevation changes on the back 9. But the greens were in really bad shape. There was a lot of brown grass. In a few holes the rough was non-existent with the fairway leading directly into the woods your ball just never stopped. There were no hole markers. Bunkers were in awfull shape. On a positive note it had four holes that I would play over and over and over again. And good hot dogs
Best Public Course In Area
The greens are slowly becoming better and quicker this year! Everything was so lush and well kept! The entire staff this year when I played was also very cordial. Great course for night golf for myself and my buddies at the par 3 on Friday nights (Must TRY!) and also 9 & wine for the my girlfriend and I in the evening. The front nine layout blows so many public courses out of the water in this area. Will be back VERY SOON. :)
Never to come back
Had great time on the front none but come the 10th hole a maintenance person started antagonizing me. I left then and there never to return again. Courses sometimes fogey who the paying customer is.
Beauty combo
One of the seldom seen perfect combo's of nice shaped and maintained park holes and scenic narrow holes into the hilly woods of Cuyahoga NP. BTW exellent greens!
Reasonable
Fun course and play is always steady. Tough back 9. 3.5 out of 5.
nice course, good condition, poor maintenance
The front nine was in stellar shape. No complaints at all. The back nine was in good shape but there was a maintenence worker 1 hole ahead of us watering every green and fairway. We were then playing on a soaking wet green every hole but 17 and 18. Who waters the green during peak playing time on a 55 degree day? I have never come across this in my life besides when I am trying to finish a round at 9 pm. Also the hot dog tasted like it was 2 days old. The lady behind the counter was nice at least.
Brandywine Golf Coarse
Good course for the intermediate golfer. Offers a variety of challenges, especially the back 9. Good condition overall.
Be Careful
My friend and I who are both pretty good golfers played here on a Saturday morning. They charged us $22 (summer rates) to walk 9-holes. If you look on their web site you will clearly see the cost is $18.
The condition of the fairways, although cut low, were loaded with weeds and the greens were level and consistent (the greens were the best part of the course)
Bill from Akron
Course needs a lot of attention fairways cut inconsistent and no sand in the bunkers(mud). The course has a unique layout and the back is fun to play. I would recommend it as a last minute round for a good price.
Bear of a back 9!
This is a great course, one of the best in the area. The front 9 play fairly easy and quickly... but be prepared for the back 9. Holy smokes, it's like a whole new course.
Nice course in middle of beautiful National Park
Front nine is relatively easy and open. Back nine is tight, narrow, and has some interesting holes. Views are great with lots of foliage as this course is right in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Staff is friendly. Watch for slow golfers, though! My twosome tee'd off at 7:50am, with no one having tee'd off since the first group, a foursome, went out at 7am. Sure enough, caught up to the foursome which was playing incredibly slow. Had to wait and was told by staff that delay was because of rain. It rained for 10 minutes, at the most, so that was certainly not the main reason. The foursome finished their 18 holes in a lightening-quick 5.5 hours (with no one in front of them, mind you) while refusing to let my partner and I play through. Suggestion for staff - stress pace of play!!
A nice challenge
Very fun course. Lots of different looks. Nice elevation changes. Can usually find a good deal on golf now. I'll be back soon.
Always a good time at Brandy Wine
First time back to Brandy Wine and have been looking forward to it all winter. One of my best picks in the Akron area. Front nine has some nice long holes with a few dog legs. The nine hole is always challenging with the elevated tee shot over a small lake.
Back nine is a different story... Very challenging with narrow fairways, water, twists, up hills, and around corners... Tough for the weak at heart. I love the challenge myself and my wife loves it too. The fairways are deep green grass and the Greens are cut nicely and fast. I had a great time and looking forward again to get back there.
Another day in paradise
Always make sure I play here a couple times of year. The back 9 is pretty unique and tests my limited skills.
Two *very* different nine's
The front and back nine of this course are entirely different. The front nine is a typical course for the Northeastern Ohio area - relatively flat, some doglegs, some very interesting and fun holes. The back nine is carved in the side of a mountain with some very gimmicky holes. There are two par 4's that are short (<300 yards) but *very* tight (30 yard landing area at most). Miss the fairway by even a little and goodbye ball. It has a par 3 that's 150 yards out and 100 yards down with a dirt tee box (apparently they can't grow grass on top of the mountain!). That is followed by a nearly impossible par 5 - 160 yard drive max -right hand turn - 250 yard fairway shot to a 30 yard landing area - then a left hand turn for your last 140 yards. Then you finish with two holes back on the main plain - just like the first nine.
