Very Nice Course
I've played this course before and always enjoy it. The course on this day was in very nice condition considering that there was some soft areas by the rain the day before. The greens rolled nice and true. Played #16 along 3 deer feeding under the trees along the fairway. If you haven't tried this course,I recommend you do,
Good course in good shape
This course was in excellent shape, from the greens, T boxes and fairways. Tight course , a lot of places to get into trouble ..hit it straight n you'll be OK
Nice and challenging course. Not crowded during the weekday. Well maintained, has a nice amenities like you can even take a shower afterwards
No food or beer available
Course is good design but our foursome was disappointed to find that the restaurant was closed so we couldn’t get any beer or food at the turn- we noticed a cart girl when we were teeing off at 3:40 and then never saw her once during our round. Disappointing- prob not coming back to play again
Half way house closed again in the afternoon
If you spray the ball off the tee you will have issues. The fairways are not very wide but they are fair. The greens are beautiful but tricky depending on pin placement. Watch out on the downhill putts.
Front nine played in two hours and fifteen minutes very respectable
Back nine played two holes then the entire back nine was at a stand still and went home
Course must get rangers out on course
Challenging course, tight on some holes. With the exception of having to dodge the odd goose droppings the course in great condition. Staff is friendly.
Excellent layout, fast greens, traps had alot of stones, no starter - before we played they sent out a twosome and a single, we were a twosome and joined single, no ranger - but played twilight. Backup on 10, so went back and replayed front, probably would have been more annoyed if I did not pay twilight Rates. Other than rockey traps and pace of play, it is a great layout and challenge
This course is on the grounds of a Hilton property, which may explain why I haven’t great of it before. I live in Queens, NY and play in Nassau and Suffolk frequently. This course is a hidden gem. I played on a Friday before Memorial Day with a tee time if 730am. Started on time and was walking to my car by 11am. There are lots of sand traps, water and a few narrow fairways. Strategy is the game here. The greens were excellent and played true so it allows one to feel like you can score well.
This is a hidden gem out in suffilk county but I highly recommend it.
Ironically, the carts display a sign encouraging everyone to play at a four hour pace. Round took just about 5 hours! No rangers on the course that I could see. Otherwise, other than the first and last holes, a very nice place to play. Lots of stuff on the greens from the trees so at this time of year it would help to have staff blow off the greens.
