Wind Watch Golf & Country Club
About
Although it is located in Hauppauge on Long Island's North Shore, Wind Watch Golf Club possesses the look and feel of a destination course. Sprawling across a lush, rolling landscape covered with sparkling ponds, the course is as challenging as it is scenic. Water hazards come into play on 12 holes and there are more than 75 bunkers, some of which are massive in size, strategically placed throughout. Almost every hole presents golfers with a unique risk-reward opportunity. The golf course begins and ends at its highest point, which is one of the island's highest elevations. Wind Watch's closing hole provides a memorable finish as the only dogleg on the course. This par 4 takes a sharp left before climbing uphill to the triple-tiered green that is protected by three enormous traps.

Not Happy
I love this course. This one Willow Creek are great. I made my tee time on Golfnow.com and saw they were aerating the course so I called to ask the conditions. I was told they were only aerating the 5th and 6th holes. So no big deal and I booked. We play quickly. The two groups ahead of us were moving like turtles. Lining up every shot, marking their ball on the green for a 2 foot putt, etc. The group ahead of us was worse. The guy was hitting 2 balls, the woman took 6 practice swings to hit the ball 5 feet in whatever direction. I called the shop to get a ranger out to move the pace along. No one came out. There ended up being 4 groups on the 4th hole with no employees from the course to help move it along. Finally after we finished the 4th hole, we walked off. I told the kid at the clubhouse but there was really nothing he was gonna do. Not even offering a rain check or refund.
Don't lie to me about course conditions!
If we need help out there, send someone to help!!!
not a good day
Beautiful layout.
Under 4 hour round is always a plus. Especially on Long Island. Greens very fast. Group ahead of us were not making a mess of the bunkers.
Call before you play
It’s April so no course is in tip too shape yet you pay $90+ for this course for some reason. We thought maybe they were ahead of the curve but no, the course was not worth the money. To make matters worse they never said anything about the greens being aerated so that’s another kick in the balls when your paying that much and all over courses in the area are roughly $55-70. On multiple greens they had the sprinklers running also so you had to navigate around those. Just an overall disappoint when your charging that kind of money for a round.
Top notch course
Challenging course. Even short holes have difficult greens. 2 were too fast. 1st had a big false front and the hole was just above where it started to fall off. 9th was sloping down left a lot. Very hard to get a birdie.
The course to play!
Even with winter conditions, this course is a premiere course of LI. Anxious to play again
Thank you for recognizing the quality of our course even in winter conditions. We look forward to having you back for another round!
