Safari Golf Club
About
Located adjacent to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Safari Golf Club was carefully carved from mature forests. This tight course is not particularly long, but it has a varied design that appeals to a number of different tastes and skill levels. The layout features tree-lined fairways and water hazards on several holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking treacherously beside the greens. The golf course starts off with a challenging par 4 that features a dramatic drop from the tee to the green. It finishes with two demanding par 4s as well. The 17th and 18th holes both feature a slew of challenges including rolling, tree-lined fairways and tricky stream crossings. Although it presents a formidable test on some holes, Safari Golf Club's hazards are straightforward with no surprises.

Slooooowwwwww play
2 hrs to play the front nine, 3 hours on the back. Ranger was useless, beverage cart and concession counter girl were outstanding. Pace of play makes Safari unplayable!
Much different
I played 14yrs ago
This course is so much different then I can not remember how it was like. But this course CE came so much different as better.
Became great course. Thank you
Nice Course!
Safari never disappoints. The course is challenging, but not over challenging, is always in good condition, and the staff members are very helpful and friendly. One particular employee, Cathy Tebay, who works in the restaurant/bar, is fabulous! She was extremely friendly and helpful.
dont understand pace of play
First instead of starting on the first tee recital on the 10th tee and then we came back around and started on the first tee there was a ladies league that immediately started after us. There were two women playing in a scramble behind us hitting off the ladies tees and they complain to the range that we were going slow however we finished around in four hours and 15 minutes it seems kind of silly to start them and start on the wrong side of keys inside the mediately after us and tell us we’re playing too slow when we are playing faster than usual what a joke
Great Course!!!
The course was in great condition. The staff was friendly. The pace of play was a bit slow but we were able to complete the round in less than 5 hours. Will definitely be playing there again soon.
Identity Crisis
Decent course but that's as far as it goes. This course has a serious identity crisis. The clubhouse, carts, range, starter hut, rangers and all amenities make it seem like your playing a borderline country club. However, once you hit the course it's about as average of a Ohio golf course as you can find.
Layout is boring, 80% of the holes are completely forgettable and it has your typical back and forth course design where every hole is simply separated by a line of trees. Straight 335 yard par 4 followed by straight 335 yard par 4. The overall condition of the course is good, the design is just extremely boring. Everytime you approach the next tee box it's almost like groundhogs day where there is no uniqueness to any hole outside of #1,#17,#18.
Pair that with the fact that this course is extremely overcrowded due to the Zoo's name being attached to it and you have yourself a 5 hour round of golf. It's a $35 course that wants to be a $70 course
In good shape, pace was not
Great amenities for a municipal course. Nice range, bar and pro shop. The course itself is in good shape. I booked a late tee time having got out of work early. Got there and hit a few on the range then went up for a 5:30 tee time. I was in no way expecting to get a full 18 holes in comfortably before dusk but I didn’t even make the turn until nearly 8:30. Just miserably slow pace of play for a weeknight. Probably should have been alternating starting positions because there was no one on the back hardly. Luckily the rangers were cool and let me go out the back and I managed to get 16 holes in before I couldn’t see anymore. Be careful booking twilight rounds.
Great Course
The course was in great shape. Fairways cut and grees rolled. Excellent job
