Reid Park Golf Club - North Course

Course was in good shape. Rough was challenging and greens were fast. Several par 4 holes require iron off the tee.

North was well maintained from tee box to fairway to green. Bunkers are a weakness like many Ohio public courses. Back 9 was less forgiving, requiring shot shaping on multiple dog legs. Great value on GolfNow and course was not crowded on a Thursday.

The course is in great shape, but both times I’ve played it have been super slow (weekends). Fairly challenging course. They are still working on it, but it will be one of the nicest public courses in the area when done. I look forward to playing there again.

Played this course a month, wanted to play it again. Tough course, but fair. You are not penalized for good shots, but you are for bad shots.

Course was perfect. Harder than most that I play, but you are rewarded for good shots, and penalized for bad ones. The gentleman that I golfed with did ace the par 3 #4 hole.

The positives: Staff is very friendly. Greens fees were reasonable($34 w/cart). The course was in great condition (2 exceptions were the recently aerated greens and the sand traps) and the layout is challenging. The course is great shape as well, with nice fairways and challenging rough. It was worth the trip from Columbus, but a bit far for regular play. Excellent food offerings beyond Hot Dogs and brats. The cheeseburger was fantastic.

The negatives were the facilities are basic at best. Felt like I was at a state park, actually. An old one. The greens were fast and challenging, but the recent aeration was a surprise. There is only one thing that is a terrible negative: the sand traps. I don’t know if they have plans to work on them, but that must babe the next project if they are going to continue. They are sand, but almost as much rocks and dirt in them as there is sand. Their golf carts are overdue for replacement as well.

If I lived 15-20 minutes closer, I would come back and play again. They have a membership deal going on that would be a great value, but I live too far. Hopefully they get the sand trap situation resolved, because it is a bit of a gem.

First time playing here. Drove 45 minutes out to play the first nice sunday of the year. Fairly packed on tee times and people just jumping in between people who reserved a time. Few people hitting breakfast balls here and there which is fine, but the moment I hit one its a problem even though we are waiting on people in front of us. Guy behind us felt entitled since he was a member to police everyone else's day, but besides the point. Maps on the scorecard were misleading as to which direction the hole went and no guidance from the tee boxes either. Really nice fairways, and tee boxes weren't too beat up. No rakes for sandpits and the greens were fast. I'd say if you're a beginner/novice this isn't the course for you. They do have a really appealing "unlimited play" for members deal. If i lived closer I would probably take advantage. Not a bad course overall, but I don't think I will be coming back

It was very cold and windy day with less than 10 people playing. But I found the north course layout is interesting and fairways are in general narrow, which means you have to shape your shots to get good scores. Definitely will come back on a warm day to play again.

I played south course several times. The north is way better than the south. Even with the same price. Excellent!
