Love this course and the staff!
Great staff! Golf course was in pretty solid shape! Prices per round are amazing! Highly recommend playing here as I plan to be back at least a few more times before this golf season is over!
First time playing, early October
Mayfair is a somewhat modern-ish course, the green complexes are very nice and require a lot of strategic playing to score well. Deep bunkers seem to guard most of the greens, but there is seemed to be an open mouth to each green. There is a lot of undulation to the greens, being below the hole, which was not always the front of the green. It could use more width to allow better angles at the greens, and eliminating cross bunkers on some holes would make it more playable.
The course was in pretty nice shape. Fairways were really nice, I saw a couple of wet areas around sprinkler heads. The greens rolled incredibly true. All the bunkers I saw were filled with pillowy white sand, a rarity these days for public courses.
The greens had not been aerated as of Oct. 3.
scrambler
I have been playing this course for over ten years now
and have never been disappointed in how it plays.
with undulating greens that can go from fairly easy to fairly difficult, and enough water and sand
to make you check your ego, and "think" about your shot selections. the staff is very cordial and helpful,
the free buffet makes it a great deal and a pleasant experience.
Fun Day
What a great day. This course is on the short side, but there is just enough trouble to make one rethink pulling out driver on every hole. The greens have very good speed and add a level of difficulty to the course. Good amounts of water and sand. It was also surprisingly quiet for being in the middle of a busy area. Good for walking other than the distance between the last 3 holes. The best part is a breakfast AND lunch buffet are included in the price of the greens fee.
Terrible T off guy
You should bunch them up in the foursomes instead of two players at a time . And then you have single players playing. It took five hours to play 18 holes .
Greens are challenging
Overall the course was in good condition, and as always the greens present a challenge.
Great conditions considering our dry weather
Course in great condition considering our area has had minimal rain The last couple of months. The breakfast, lunch included in the green fees is an extra. And the owners are great, friendly folks!!
Best deal in NE Ohio, golf and food for $12.
Booked a $12 rate on Golfnow. Got to the course, checked in, and were told to go to the buffet for free. Hot dogs, sausage, sloppy joes, chips, etc. Before 11 AM, they have a similar breakfast buffet.
Course itself is an older design, with rather wide fairways and mature trees. Fairways and greens in great shape, with some burned out areas of rough. Back nine played slow, due to a large group outing that we caught up to.
Course itself is well worth the golf now rate, with food included before 2 PM a bonus. Check this place out if you can.
Great experience
Greens are well maintained, true, and quick. Overall, course is in nice shape with many subtle challenges. Staff was super friendly. And what a deal to play: $28 to play included both a buffet breakfast and lunch!!! Plus I was so impressed that I played another 18 holes for only $10. And make no mistake -- this is a good golf course at 6600 yards.
Ok at best
Starters are rude. Course has a bunch of hacks out on it not repairing ball marks and clogging up play. I don't play the best but at least I play quickly. Course is ok at best
Great value
We played at 6:45 am on a Sunday, very friendly on check in, the course is in great shape other than the 10th hole (they are building a new tee box). At the turn we caught up with the group in grout of us. They asked us if we knew there was a breakfast buffet included in our green fee? Sure enough, there is a breakfast /lunch buffet every day till 2pm included. Stay out of the rough....
I'm sorry your experience was less than par. If you don't mind could you please let me know what the starters had said to you and your group so we can avoid this situation in the future. Is there anything on our end we can do to make your experience better? Thank you for playing at Mayfair and we do hope that one day you make it back.
