Slow play AGAIN!!!!
Raintree loves to sell tee times via GolfNow that immediately follow one of its scheduled golf outings, thereby guaranteeing slow play.
It’s been so dry here lately we didn’t know what to expect, couldn’t have been more surprised. The greens were in great shape , fairways were plush, rough as mowed. We were very happy considering how hot and dry it’s been here lately. We will definitely be coming back.
Raintree in Summer
The course is in great shape. Greens a little slower than I like. However the rough is maintained and balls are easy to find. A course that is often quite wet is now on the dry side.
It also is appealing to the eye with green fairways well maintained.
A lot of fun to play!!
Course is long from the Blue Tees but in great shape. Some of the greens are tricky to putt
Pace of play was good.
Staff was efficient and friendly.
Good value with GolfNow.
Seemed covid19 safe.
Learning the course and there were a few water surprises but managed to navigate them.
Poor Tee Sheet Management
I unders that things are crazy right now but so is taking 1.5 hours to play 2 holes... Big waste of time and money. Terrible tee sheet management. I have played 3 other courses in the area and none of them were nearly as backed up and congested.
They shoved a million people on the course. Took 3 and a half hours for front 9. Course was drenched. Just all out terrible day!
Just terrible. They were clearly over booked and had a line to tee off. Finally teed off 45 mins after our tee time. Also they partnered us with another 2 some that was walking while we were riding in a cart, took forever. 2 and a half hours later we had to leave after 6 holes. I will never go back here even though it's one of the closest courses to my house. They never even said anything about the wait. Also covid-19 out and about so you decide to make me feel safe by pairing me up with 2 strangers? Get out of here raintree! I have never had a great experience at this place. But this was hands down the worst. Advertise your tee time correctly. I would have rather been refunded my money and went elsewhere or even stayed home.
Nice to get out!
Today's round was soggy and slow as far as the greens go. The sogginess is no fault of the course due to all the rain that we've had. It was a nice day to get out with my father and swing the clubs. The clubhouse was closed which we like to go in and have an adult beverage afterwards but also we understand where we are as a state. We will be back and play again. In closing, I believe her name is Patty, ran back and forth and got my father and I a few cold beverages and didn't take a tip. I wanted to give her a tip and get change and she said really it's okay. Patty we need more people like you in this world thank you for being so kind.
Raintree has the potential to improve
They’re working to improve and speed up the greens. Course was extremely wet today. Most needed change is replacement of the cart paths, worst I’ve ever been on.
Raintree has its charm even in the damp of spring
Spring rains have created a green sward that shines beneath Akron, OH. When flying into or around Notheast OH, it seems to be an Emerald in the heat of summer browns and pale greens. It is a course that can challenge an expert, but not overwhelm a novice. Always a pleasure to play Raintree.
Booked teetime here through GolfNow. Was for 1-2 for 18 holes + cart. Arrived at course to check in and was advised no carts, walk only. Told starter this and he told us it shouldn't say that and he was going to contact them to fix. My friend and I had a decision to make. Play the round with our cart bags which aren't ideal for a walking round, or not play and attempt to to find a course that allowed carts to make our round easier, and deal with GolfNow on trying to get refund. We decided to tough it out and play. We unloaded everything unessential and hit away. We could only play 9 since back was closed, which bummed us, because the back is our favorite. They did tell us that they would let us make turn on front 9 again ahead of scheduled tee times, but course was busy with groups waiting and felt that would be unfair, plus we knew pace of play would be longer than first 9. We did enjoy ourselves during our 9 hole round, but didn't get the experience we were expecting. If we had known it was walk only and only front 9 was playable, we would've booked somewhere else. This experience won't prevent us from playing there again, but disappointment was still there. I don't book tee times on GolfNow that much, but will be hesitant on doing so in future, especially when you have to prepay. I will say that the exercise did us good, but will never walk a round with a cart bag again, hence called "cart" bag.
