Rain tree early spring review
Greens still have punch holes and a bunch of the fairways were torn up. Still had a good round tho
Great mid-level course.
Raintree went through a change in ownership in the last decade and they've been slowly making the necessary changes. Bunkers are still not what I would call playable; they're rocky and usually wet. They've been "reconditioning" their range turf for about 4 years now in 2023, so they have mats out and they're meh. Their practice greens for putting and chipping don't even come close to the same pace as the course, so practicing is purely for movement, not calibration. The layout is alright, as shorter course it's expected to have some quirks with tee box angles, but sometimes it plays like the people putting out the tees and cutting cups haven't played golf in years. Overall, a good track in the afternoons because this isn't a $50 course and the $35 price tag fits substantially better.
Rude staff and overpriced
Course was in terrible shape, overpriced drinks/food. Staff was rude and the starter would not stop driving back and forth through the fairways as people were trying to play. Felt pressured to keep up pace when there was only 10 or so groups on the whole course. I will not be going back to that course which is unfortunate since I’ve played there many times before. I wouldn’t spend my money there.
