Play here.
Shorter course but plays longer with the hills. Well maintained. Greens firm but fair.
Premium Prices For Not-So-Good Conditions
Golfed here yesterday. The place is charging full rates(58.00) for October golf while course is in poor condition and is undergoing maintenance. Patchy fairways, they had a hard time growing grass on some tee boxes, fairways aerated(which is ok), and greens were cut to aerate and were not smooth, had a lot of bounce. Pace of play was horrible, the two groups that had tee times before us were late and we had to suffer and wait when we could have been sent out and had at least three holes in before they got their act together. There was a point where nobody teed off for a half hr. and we were sitting waiting. Then when we did get out we waited on EVERY single shot for the rest of the day. Pace of play was terrible, course in poor condition, outrageous price for such a poor condition. I dont mind paying a 100.00 if it is worth it. If your course sucks at least lower the price, overpaying for poor conditions is insulting. Wont be back
Dope logo!
Play it for the logo alone and get yourself a hoodie in the pro shop. Great layout with pretty good conditions considering its a muni and highly rated. Worth your time.
Great shape as always
Manikiki is always in great shape. The greens are fantastic. All the other courses in the area should take lessons in how the Manikiki staff lets the course run hard and fast and let nature do the watering. There is no reason to water a course in the Cleveland area as it rains almost every week. On the PGA Tour they dont play soaked courses where the ball backs up on a tee shot. Certain courses in the area soak their fairways for no reason. It actually damages the course more. The staff is always friendly and its always a great experience especially during Browns games when most people are watching the Browns. Finished the round today in 3.5 hours.
More Diversity Please
This is one of our favorite courses to play. As my golf partner and I are interracial women, as much as we love the course and really like many of it’s starters and counter workers, it would be far more welcoming if more of them were people of color.
Hidden Public Gem
Manakiki was a delight to play 18 on a beautiful day. The course was in good condition and pace of play was well established, even with a fully booked day. Not only were staff friendly, but the golfers were too. Each hole is fairly straightforward without too many overt challenges, but the greens made up for that by being unforgiving. They were unpredictably fast and slow; also, the breaks didn’t give nearly as much as we expected them to. Amenities were fair with nothing over the top on offer. Price felt a tad high with cart rental being $14/pp, so if walking the $44 feels like a steal for this course. As a twosome with numerous inconsistent shots and several drops, we still played under 4 hours.
