Average course
the good- cart was nice, drove great, seemed relatively new.
Greens were in good shape.
Negatives- fairways were hard to separate from the rough
The grass on the fairway was spotty.
Drinking water missing from a hole.
For $20 and cart it's worth it. Average course.
Poor Conditions
Half of this course is in average condition for a mid June afternoon. The other half is a completely different story. Many fairways had little to no grass. When you did find grass the ground beneath was incredibly hard and impossible to hit from. The fairways were also not defined compared to the rough. A unique aspect of this course is that there are no bunkers throughout the entire course. This may be worth the "Hot Deal" value, but besides that I would not suggest playing. Not a great course for anyone that takes golf seriously.
Decent for the price
I played a round for 14 dollars and that included a cart. For the price it wasn't bad. For that price you can't expect a country club course and I didnt. The course layout is pretty confusing and the ground couldn't have possibly been any harder. Other than that I thought it was ok and will play it again.
No Bad, Please Mow!
The front nine were challenging, lots of water, fun ravines/rivers on par 3s. BUT there were tons of clover patches all over which meant several lost balls, sometimes in the middle of the fairway or just off the green. The Course cited the issue was with the city, but I don't know. The greens were in decent shape though.
Enjoyed playing
Tree lined golf course with lots of water. Not a long course but more positional with your golf ball. Would help to play with someone who knows the course the first time. For a muni it was in pretty good condition. A few bad greens but overall not bad. Would play again.
Nice place for the money. Some greens in need of work.
Enjoyable round. No sand on the course (just FYI). Plenty of water to contend with.
Many locations with ice water to refill your water bottle (very helpful on hot, steamy days).
Sapulpa needs a new lawn mower
The maintenance on this course is horrible. The grass around the greens on several holes was over 10 inches tall. You could land 3 ft off of the green and spend 10 minutes looking for your ball. Very frustrating.
Poor course condition, Even poorer "Club House", Some Rude Staff,
I played on a Hot Deal from GolfNow for $15 including cart, it was worth every penny! And I wouldn't pay a penny more!
The "Club House/Pro Shop" is run down.. The food is not great.. The greens have as many divots as your heart desires (as well as large sand craters on a few greens), and the greens are extremely slow.. SOME fairways are average quality, while other fairways are made up of a mixture of weeds and hard sand spots..
I played on a very hot day and they had ZERO water buckets on the front 9, and only two on the back 9... The worst part of our experience was that we bought a few waters/gatorades from the club house and asked the lady staff member if we could borrow an ice cooler (or even pay to borrow one), AND SHE SAID NO! (Even though they clearly had at least 10 ice coolers sitting on top of the ice machine) She told us that we could take one cup of ice each...
Fun Day
Had a great day playing with my buddies. Course was in pretty good shape. At times it was hard to find your ball if you were out of the fairway but it was a fun course not to hard but not to easy either.
Sapulpa Course
Staff was friendly. The course was in good shape. A couple of greens had some small dead spots, but most looked really good. With all the rain we have had this spring & summer, there was a lot of water in the ponds and creeks. Overall had a good experience and will definitely go back.
Like Playing In a Pasture
i didn't know it was possible to lose that many balls on fairways. The fairways really didn't exist. The grass was 6 inches tall.
Course not in good shape
Conditions were pretty poor 7/3/15--fairways had not been mowed recently, greens were way slow, and the rough and as much weeds as it did grass.
Course not maked well on distance
It is a nice course for a city course. We got mixed up a couple of times on which way to go to the next tee box
could be betta
Generally, I enjoy this course and I did this day also, however, there were several problems, new, or ongoing.
First, the course was not mowed and I lost three balls in the middle of the fairway in high clover, second, gounds' workers would not completely vacate the greens when I was on them which was bothersome, finally, the greens still have many rough sandy spots on them. Still a good deal, I think, for the money.
Sapulpa Golf
This was a good golf round. The cost was awesome. The greens were in good shape. The fairways were in fair shape. The staff was very nice. The course layout on cards could be better. At times confused to where the next tee was. Tee boxes were in good shape. The driving range needs to be in a different place as it is hitting onto 10th fairway. This is a little dangerous. Overall though it was a good golf experience. I would golf there again.
Not Bad For the Money
Like any municipal course, it has it's different maintenance issues. The greens are very spotty and beat up. But for $15 including cart it's not too bad.
Value of the dollar
Greens were very rough but a good deal with open play for the money
Good Choice Considering Price
Sapulpa's course is flat as a pancake except where a large creek runs through it. The polar opposite of Sand Springs just north of it. But Sapulpa claims WAY more water on the course. Tons of it.
The layout is competent, but not inspired. They do mostly avoid just straight fairways between a line of trees. But aside from trying to miss the water hazards there is little challenge. Apparently there is no sand in Sapulpa.
About the title. At least they do not take themselves too seriously in Sapulpa. The green fee and/or cart are quite reasonable. If your budget influences where you play, I say give it a try. And don't worry about underdressing. This is Sapulpa, you know.
Sapulpa ok.
This is a fun course and it is very reasonably priced we love it there.
