Casperkill Golf Club
About
Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie is situated in the heart of the Hudson River Highlands, surrounded by acres of lush, rolling countryside. The course wanders through stands of towering oak trees and circles a few tranquil ponds before moving along the banks of its namesake creek. The gently rolling hills provide the course with elevated tees and terraced greens. Robert Trent Jones designed the golf course in 1944. He created a traditional layout that fully utilizes all of the features of the scenic terrain. The course finishes with a player-friendly hole that offers a great opportunity for a birdie. There is a bunker in front of the green but if played smartly as a three-shot hole, golfers will be generously rewarded. In addition to the golf course, Casperkill also offers a driving range with multiple target greens and a large practice putting green with a chipping and bunker area.

NO CARTS
I called the course Tuesday before I I booked Sunday tee time to be sure there would be riding carts. I was told there would be. We drove 90 minutes to the course and When we arrived there were no riding carts and I did not bRing my nice push cart. My wife and I are in our 60’s. We walked but it was a challenge.
Canada smoke day
Air quality was not the best from the Canadian fires. Course was not at all busy. My girl and I had a wonderful time. Course was in Great shape. Play this course several times. Most times a great golf course to play. Enjoy!
To the greenskeeper and staff
Great job after all the rain we had to make playing your course so enjoyable
Surprised that no one was blowing leaves even though it was Saturday but other than that course was very good
Nice
Great layout. Beautiful greens. Golf now hot deals a steal. Going back next week.
Solid Classic Course
This used to be the IBM course when they were at their top in the 70s and 80s, but has lost a little bit of its luster now, but all in all a very very good solid classic Robert Trent Jones course. Some holes are great many holes are good and just a few are so so. But you have to give them credit it's obvious that they are trying to keep it in good shape and take pride in their course. Also the starter was wonderful letting us out a bit early so I could pick up my boy on time. Highly recommend. For a golf now special $40 with a cart could not be beat!
A must play any time of year
Course is carved from rolling hills of Dutchess county. Elevation changes throughout create thought provoking shot selections. Be ready to add 10 to 20 yards to approach shots for elevated greens. Have your divot tool ready to repair the soft receptive greens. Your putts will never roll truerthan on these greens
Enjoyable course
Everything was good except they had cart paths only. This creates several problems. First, the senior and women's tees cannot be accessed with your cart. You need to park it (sometimes) off in the rough and walk across the fairway to get to the tees. Also on the 17th hole to instructions tell you to stay on the cart path, however, there is no path on that hold. Next it tells you to keep to the right but when you do, the cart shuts down and cannot be re-started. After several minutes, I had to take my golf bag and walk the entire hole. On the lat hole I managed to get a ride with another player. Pace of play was excellent (about 3 3/4 hours).
Greens were just a bit slow. other than that it was terrific.
