Greens are in good shape. Tee boxes need some work.
Fun course
Had a good time. Some of the greens need some help but otherwise a good time
Good course
Greens need a lot of work, but an otherwise fun course and good time.
Nice Course
Course in fair shape considering it it the beginning of the year. Greens were in much better shape than the last time I played (10+ years ago). Tee boxes were in bad shape. Need to move them temporarily and reseed/sod.
This course is not what it used to be
If they started today it would only take about 3 years of work to have this place back up to subpar standards. The bar and staff are friendly but that’s about the only positive about this place. I paid $32 dollars for 18 holes with a cart included. Paying $10+ more at any other course is worth the extra money. If I see good reviews 3 years later from now on here maybe I’ll go back to check them out, they layout is nice.
Not bad
The greens are in much better shape then before, but still need work. Most of not all of the tee box’s are bare. Hopefully the spring can bring some more improvements and get the course better.
Don’t do it.
I grabbed an online tee time last minute. Easily the worst golf course I’ve ever played. I had heard they got new greens a few years ago but it was clear they haven’t maintained them. The “fairways” were the worst I’ve seen. Don’t waste your money.
Good. Not bad. Not great. It is what it is
Members will not let you play through. Course allows members to do whatever the heck they want. Mens group was 12 carts on a Saturday. I was in a twosome and wouldn’t let play through. We skipped ahead only to have the pro shop attendant tell me if I did that again I would be banned. I have played the course a couple times in the past few years and it is always the same. Play 9. You won’t be able to finish 18 if you don’t want a 6 hour round. They have added 9 holes but I have never seen them open the new course. Maybe it would help pace of play if you did. Just throwing that out there.
Challenging course
Great track. Some challenging holes. Pace of play was rough. The Marshall did his best at speeding it up. But it is what it is, not necessarily the courses fault
Didn’t know what to expect
I realize it just opened for the season but being my first time golfing in Oklahoma I was not expecting to golf without any grass on the fair ways.
Would have helped having obvious yardage markers. With all the hills we were hitting blindly not knowing how far the water hazards might be or the doglegs for that matter.
Wait, what???
Been here before, have enjoyed it several times. Just wished that the overdressing of the greens would have been advertised. We may still have come out to play but would have known that the greens would be difficult to navigate. We will continue to come out and enjoy the course because it’s a wonderful test for us.
My favorite layout
Surrey has always had a wonderful layout and decent greens. Holes vary from simple to extremely difficult. The wind speed, like most Oklahoma courses, can affect a shot in many ways that often do not end well. They are consistently understaffed by a group that goes above and beyond with a smile, which is a big part of why I’d call Surrrey my “home course”. If you’re looking to play there, do so and enjoy!
Very fun challenging course
Lots of elevation change and holes that will deceive you. Club choice is especially important on multiple holes else you’ll find yourself piping a great drive only for your ball to be forever lost in the thick stuff. Couple plays of Surrey this summer has been some of the most difficult rounds for me this year
