Amazing fall conditions
I’ve played the north course a few times, and this was my first time on the south side. For the middle of November, the course was still so well taken care of. Greens were in great shape. Super impressed with the condition of the course.cant wait to get out there again.
South Side
Never gotten to play the south side of this course, usually reserved for members. It was awesome and even with a frost delay, it was in amazing shape and a great challenging course!
Evolved, upscale semi-private golf done right
As the landscape has changed for upscale non-private golf in recent years, The Reserve Vineyards seems to be as relevant as ever. They do this by keeping one of their courses private for half the month, while letting the public play the other. This means accessible golf and the feeling of having gotten on a private club (including the trappings like gracious service and pristine conditioning). Neat model.
The South Course has adapted to changing times, too. Original architect John Fought's removal of several bunkers, in favor of increased fairway, makes the course more playable but still plenty. Other than a few pedestrian holes on the back nine (12-15), the layout is superb, too. Well worth a play if you're in the Portland area.
Beautiful course
This is one of my favorite courses in the metro area. Great layout, championship quality.
Bunker Play
The revision on the South course took out many bunkers. There are still many you can end up in. I would brush up on your bunker play if you are going to play this great course.
Great NOrthwest Design
Terrific course. Make sure you have an up to date map/layout. There were a few hazards not appearing on the Golf Now app. Lot of big sand traps but friendly conditions overall. Wonderful staff in every department.
Very much looking forward to keeping this course as a regular destination.
One of the best in the PDX metro area!
The south course, in my opinion, is one of the best courses in Portland. Today, the weather was perfect, the course was in mint condition, and we finished in under 4 hours! What a great "hot deal" at $45!
Great Option
With conservative shot/club selection this course is straight forward. In great condition.
Well designed interesting layout
Always a pleasure
I've played the North course previously and now I've played the South course. Both courses are always in great shape and perfect conditions. Will play here again when I get a chance.
This course has the finest and well kept sand traps. I would say the greens we running 10-11.
The greens were running 10 and the traps were well groomed and real fine sand. The only issue we had a player from Hong Kong who rented clubs when we got to the first green he noticed he had a left handed putter. He called the club house to get the correct putter and had to drive back to the club house to get the putter they did not offer to bring out the correct putter could have been better service from the staff.
Great shape
The course is in great shape, but it should be with the weather we’ve had recently. The Reserve team does a great job of keeping their courses well maintained. No complaints at all.
The golf course was in excellent condition
The golf course was in excellent condition. The fairways were well-maintained, the greens ran smooth and true and the clubhouse was in immaculate condition. The course does not play long however you do have to be careful because often times you do not have a level lie and you will need to know how to play the ball below or above your feet. When the wind comes up playing the ball on approach shots can be tricky. On balance it’s a wonderful golf course and I would recommend playing it to anyone.
1st time with new friend
It’s great to have friend came from overseas to play golf here , he loved every moment of it ..little wets but it’s still ok..
Great Winter Round!
We had a great winter round on a very sunny and comfortable Oregon day. The course was wet and soggy in some places, but that is to be expected for this time of year. We were given an excellent $35 rate for walking 18 holes, our tee time was 12:10p. There were no problems with pace of play. Glad that we were able to take advantage this beautiful course and the good weather and be out playing golf.
Stellar!!
Beautiful track! Easy to walk. You will use every club in your bag. There are some monster holes on this course. Easy to play and forgiving. Challenging as well. A fun test for all handicaps. I look forward to playing the north course. Great bent grass fairways that thud with ball and or club impact. White sand bunkers. Thick rough. Beautiful water hazards. Fairways like fluffy carpet, freshly vacuumed. Staff friendly and welcoming to everyone, (Members and non members.). Heat practice facility as well. Will be back to play north with a couple members. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a fun round, surrounded by a gorgeous setting with impeccable standards.
