Well Named Course
Mount Hood stands magically above the fairways as you look out through the windows of the bar and restaurant. It was a beautiful sunny day - and slightly too hot to take advantage of the view from the deck are on the first floor just outside the bar. I will take advantage of that on a future visit. The course was in excellent condition. I experienced two slight negatives. After playing 6 holes at a fairly brisk pace, a pack of walkers slowed progress and particularly from the 10th where it appeared additional groups were started. Blind shots are required at a number of tees, so knowing when the fairway was free was a little uncertain.
play it again
Fun course , greens were pretty fast and rolled nicely. Wait until you see #12 par 3 with about 200ft. Verticle drop. The only complaint was the debris from the trees on the greens the day I played.
very slow pace
Took us 5 hours to play 18 holes...there was always 3 groups of people at a tee box. The greens were not taken care of there was debris everywhere. For the amount of money i paid i expect better
Beautiful course.
Beautiful course. Staff/pro shop are friendly and accommodating. Great place to golf
Workers
The ground workers are a joke. Turned water on while teeing off. Ran by while making shot. Were throwing golf ball at each other .
Very tough greens
First time playing out there, great course. Had fun playing the entire round, my buddy and I got paired up with a pair of older gentlemen, they weren't too good and kind of slowed us up a bit. No complaints though, they were super nice and they helped us with how to play the course because they've played there before. The front 9 was definitely easier then the back 9. I shot 2 over on the front and then my round took a turn for the worst once we hit hole 12. Now hole 12 is a monster in itself, par 3 with a huge elevation change up to down. No joke you get a little dizzy when teeing off. Driving the cart down is no easy task either, basically riding the brake down the entire way through steep hairpin turns. Surprised no one has died or got sereverly Injured on this hole alone. Then the next 3 holes are just bad. The greens are so ridiculously sloped, hitting the green is not a problem but getting ur ball to stay is near impossible. If you 3 putted you do very well. The gentlemen we golf with did not exagerate when shooting an 8 on both par 5s was a good score, I bogeyed and actually felt like I pared. Fun course, glad we played with people who knew the course because if we didn't our scores would of been a lot higher. Had fun and definitely reccommend this course to everyone.
Very Nice Course
I thought everything was excellent except it had been too long before the last mowing and lots of cut grass on fairways and edges of fairways. Greens were in great shape, very fast, people very friendly, everything was very nice and course was challenging - be aware #12 is unique.
Great price great gold
This course is awesome. The hole difficulties vary so players of all levels will enjoy it.
Pleasant
Course conditions could be a little better for price...specific improvements should be made for yardage distances. Nice & difficult pin placements on the day of our round!
Challenging
I like playing here. I've played here a number of times and have never scored well. Your driver needs to be working and putting here is difficult. A lot of sloped fairways and Green's.
My only complaint is that the people who play here do not repair their ball marks on the greens at all.
Fun course but don't get too relaxed
Fun course, some easy par holes, but don't let your guard down, some water and tree trouble. The hype on the 12th does not prepare you for the height of the tee and the view down to a tiny green. Very fun hole. We would not want to drive that cart path in the winter, or rain, very steep. Great views of Mt Hood.
Lots of locals palling around. If Boring, Or is close to you, this is a great course for you. It was a 48 minute drive for us, so worth it every month or two.
THIS COURSE IS GOOOOOOOOD!!
I LIKE THIS COURSE.
I HAVE PLAYED HERE SEVERAL TIMES.
EVERYTIME I HAD FUN.
Great Bang for the Buck
Mt. View is a great mixture of tuff and easy, challenging and fun. A little bit of everything that makes golf the game we love (and sometimes Hate?) Just kidding, if you've played here you know what I mean. Love this place.
never again
each time I have played here I have been thwarted by slow pace players who don't understand letting someone play thru. A large part of the clientele do not have an inkling of golf etiquette. I have seen carts pulled across greens, power carts driven everywhere, divots and ball marks aren't repaired. There have never been marshals, and when I brought up the slow play and rudeness displayed to a staff member I was rewarded with a blank stare
Always a pleasure
Have always enjoyed this course, this last round was the first here of the year, so not really to be judged. Greens were recently aerated so they were very challenging. Look forward to the next round which I am sure conditions will be back to normal and enjoyable as usual.
the couse is a lot of fun toplay
The course is in the mountain, but it is set up preety good to play. There were alot of people golfing the day I did, so that indicates alot of people like the course. To walk or ride is good to do either way.Even tho there is some steep golf ways, it is alright to walk.
Fun course to play
Fun course to play. The golf course worker didn't stop his machine and drove around out in middle of fairway in front of us when we are teeing off . When we are on the green putting. He drove right up around the green and continued to cut around the green. Very hard to concentrate. If this happen again we probably will not play at this course again.
Great course for the occasional golfer
No. 12 is one of the most interesting holes you will see. No 14, 15, 16, and 17 are very challenging closing holes.
Very rude pro shop person
There was a problem with our reservation. Apparently Golf Now made a mistake. We paid for two rounds with a cart but the information that they had at the pro shop did not include the cart. I showed a copy of our confirmation to the person behind the desk and he was very rude. He said if you don't want to play, call Golf Now, it's not my problem. Very poor customer relations. We ended up paying for the cart and I hope we get reimbursed by Golf Now.
Super Value
With snow covered Mt Hood in the background and a back 9 bordered by a rushing river, this course was fun to play along with some terrific photo ops, this course is a bargain for sure. The only negative feedback I have yo share is the cart paths need to be repaired
The course opened 50 years ago and a billboard in the lounge showed green fees were $1.00 on weekdays and $1.25 on weekend in 1964. Taking inflation into account, it costs less to play now than I'm 1964. A great value for a nice course
