Just the right degree of challenge
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The course was in good shape and offered good tee box choices. Several drivers have water in play.
Needs TLC
Good layout but really needs some TLC. There is a sign on the first tee that says, "Play Winter Rules". I had fun and would play again but keep your expectations real.
Great Course
My friend and I walked the front 9 and then rode with the two guys we were paired with on the back 9. Great guys and we had a fun time. I have golfed Stone Ridge about 4 times but it was the first time for my friend. The course is challenging for us (we typically shoot in the 90's) and has some really fun holes that are different for a lot of other courses. The only thing about Stone Ridge is that it can be sort of wet in places, even in August. Other than that, I highly recommend it to anyone.
Diamond in the rough
Boy do I wish they'd sink some money into this course! I've played the top courses around the Rogue Valley (Centennial, Eagle Point, RVGC) and this is by far the best layout. Beautiful views and nicely challenging with good elevation change and water occasionally. You won't be disappointed!
Stone Ridge
The greens are in awesome shape. The third cut of rough isn't cut and the cart path is a little rough but this is a good course overall for the money.
Wet and Dry
Maintenance of the course is bad. You went from dry no grass in the fairway to wet and soggy. Spots in front of greens where you would be chipping were bare on some holes. Too bad, this is one of the most fun layouts in southern Oregon.
Great Coarse & Staff
Stone Ridge is one of the nicer coarses in the valley. Set in the mountain valleys and hills it offers a great varity of challenges.
In need of some maintenance.
Wonderful course layout. Grass on tee boxes is too tall. Lots of overgrown areas. Greens were rolling very slow.
This plaxce is a disgrace to Southern Oregon
Excellent layout and views of the valley but tee boxes are overgrown as well as the surrounding greenery on course.
Greens are slow as molasses as your ball should not dead stop on downhill putts.
Fairways need a lot of work
Practice area is a disgrace
Sand traps are a mess with no sand, rocks, and other debris.
The owner should sell the place to someone who takes pride in their business as he does not want to spend any money to keep the course in shape.
GOOD Coarse
Greens had just been dressed and it was early in the year
Stoneridge Best Public Course in Southern Oregon during the spring and summer
Stoneridge is an excellent course. The layout is beautiful and challenging. Lots of evaluation changes through out the course. 5 risk and reward holes that play distances that tempt even the average golfer. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. During the spring and summer months the course is always in great condition. Winter and fall there is some drainage issues, but that is the only gripe I have with this course far and away the best course to play in Southern Oregon. There is also an abundance of wildlife. I've seen coyotes catch rabbits, deer attack a coyote, a bear, and turkeys every time.
Fun time golfing on a great course layout
Course layout is real challenging and fun. Green are challenging as well and in good shape. Fairways and tee box need work, but playable.
So so
A lot of wet then dry fairways, the greens were not good. The greens had a lot of dirt/ mud areas.
great place to golf
The pin locations were tough today but the fairways and greens were in good condition for this time of the year! This coarse is the most fun of any coarse in southern oregon! With a friendly staff and a great value on green fees, you can't go wrong!
Disappointing
This used to be one of my favorite courses in the valley, but this year it was a huge disappointment. The fairways are either mud or weeds-not much grass. The tee boxes are so shaggy you can't tell how high you have teed the ball. As always, the greens are slow, but now they are slow and bumpy. This is a great layout so I hope they can bring this course back to the way it used to be, but it will cost a bunch of money and they don't seem to want to spend much on maintenance.
Beautiful setting
Had a great time. Very beautiful. Length was perfect for me from the blue tees. Only complaints which were not that big of a deal was the course was very wet and made for a few sloppy iron shots. Greens held well because of the water. Quite a few of the ball washers were empty. How hard is it to keep those filled.
All in all I had a very good time
Old favorite in need of TLC and a little money for upkeep!
Back in the area for the summer and looked forward to playing an old favorite. Love the layout, staff and ambiance, but unfortunately, this course is in need of attention. Tee boxes are shaggy, greens are slow, sand traps are in dis-repair and the fairways need grooming. I know this course operates on a limited budget, but it needs to find a way to infuse money into the course itself. Still love the layout and will return (just not as often), but will "save" my special higher cost golf outings to better maintained and groomed courses in the area.
This course is in good shape
The weather was good not to hot or not too cold. We had a good round.
Players Round
We thought the golf course was a great way to spend away from the baby shower. The first nine was great, Howerver, the back nine was a challeng due to the rain.
Overal we felt the course was worth playing again and again.
Played stony
Loved the first hole tee that was moved up to 235 yards par four the rest of the course was in pretty good shape can't wait to play it again
