Most interesting 9 hole course I’ve played.
Very unique course that utilizes the topography of the land. Large hills to tee off from, and a few greens that were very challenging and definitely humbled my performance. Overall enjoyed the course.
Not for serious golfers
Families with dogs and small children abound. Pace of play was at times glacial. Charged $35 for 9 holes of green fees with a cart. Would not recommend this course unless you're taking your family out for a leisurely stroll on a golf course.
New Course Layout at Laurelwood
The new holes are open and renovations are nearly complete. Holes 7-9 are nicely redesigned and the greens are already in perfect shape. The tee to green angle for #7 makes more sense and should play a bit easier than the old layout. #8, par 3 is listed as 151 from the back tees, but plays a bit longer and #9 is a definite birdie hole with eagles likely for big hitters. The course is in beautiful shape and the greens are a challenge for even the best of putters.
Laurelwood offers a challenging nine in a community lacking a lot of great golf options. The latest improvements and redesign are appreciated. There are some repair areas on a few holes that need to get resolved. On the whole, this is a fun course that will challenge you.
Unique course
Quite an interesting round playing Laurelwood for the first time! The norm on this course is people walking around the course w/ off leash dogs. It seemed extremely strange at first, but by the end of the round wasn't a big deal.
A tough/challenging old school course, great staff. Downhill puts were brutal to get close to the hole.
Hilly course
The course is hilly but in good condition. Good deal for the money. Staff is friendly
I grew up playing this course. Unfortunately within the past year the service at the pro shop has declined tremendously. The guys at the shop the last 3 times we have been here either unprofessionally do not tell paying customers that they are plugging greens or let a group of 7 people w/ teens in front of a group of 3 adults. This is still a golf course folks, even if it is a municipal. Probably won't be coming back and that's a shame because we have been loyal to laurelwood for a pretty long time. I recommend going to EMERALD VALLEY in Creswell. Much better course and service.
Beautiful setting. Good challenge
Enjoyed the course. Required accuracy, especially to the greens. You don't have to be a real long hitter to enjoy yourself.
Nice muni course, decent conditions, good value
First time playing a course in Eugene after moving from Phoenix, AZ. Obviously, the pines and lush conditions are a welcome change to the first desert conditions. This course allows dogs, so people are constantly walking their pets, which is fine as long as they are respectful of the golfers. There are some ground under repair areas on the course, but I attribute that to the drought that this area is currently having. Overall, I will definitely return. However, $30 for a cart rental is a little ridiculous.
Challenging holes
Great to practice all you golf game, great for others to learn
Heavenly
The course is in great shape for the price. It is challenging due to the hills. Would like to see the tee boxes bigger!
$30 for cart!! Yeah, that is the rate a course charges when they are sending the message that they want you walking, ouch!
