Be prepared to walk!
The course played pretty soft and with all the trees and low sun, it’s very hard to dry out! Was very disappointed when I found out they weren’t allowing carts on the course! They claim to send an email to everybody on their schedule, and I did not receive one! So I was very unprepared when I found out I had to walk. I’ve got a brand new pool cart. That’s much easier to pull then the rentals and I also have a bad knee and didn’t bring a knee brace, usually don’t need it when I’m riding in a cart. Again, I did not receive an email stating they weren’t allowing carts on the course, was very disappointed! The course I played hundreds of times, and it’s decent, considering what I said earlier.
Not bad for fall golfing!
Glendoveer West was in pretty good shape, considering it was October 31st!. Fairways were pretty firm and not too muddy. The greens were in nice shape and suprisingly fast!
Almost perfect day
If you play slow, want to play slow fine but please don’t hold everyone else up! We were two holes behind a threesome, caught them with our threesome so few hole before the turn and then slugged after them as they became a twosome. Finally catching up to the group ahead of them. Luckily the fairways were kind and the greens were in great shape. Great course we will certainly be back and hope to have a marshal
West side
Usually easy to get on. Fairly easy front with a few tougher holes on the back. 17 and 18 greens were lightning fast. Bogeyed 17 after hitting it close. Downhill putt raced by. Was really shocked at the pace. Let a good round get away. 18 also very fast. Greens overall are better than you’d expect here. Better than some of the more premier courses in the area. I’m a 6.0 HC and shot 76. Zero birdies. Could have been better had I made my usual 2-3.
Great Staff!
Couse layout is simple, conditions - greens OK, fairways ok mostly, rough certain areas need help, tee box fine. Slow play a problem. No restrooms on course. Staff is Great! That is why I play there.
Needs help
I enjoy playing this course but maintenance has to improve. Hard pan fairways, uneven greens and bunkers with no sand and hard as concrete.
Pretty good
Have played this course many times. The course usually is in very good condition, especially the greens. During my latest round, I was very disappointed with the bunkers. I landed in 2 of them, and both of them had VERY little sand in them. It's hard to hit a good bunker shot when there's only a half inch of sand in them! Overall, still happy with the course, but they definitely need to put more sand in the bunkers.
Glen Dover west
Big area for warming up, with a place to practice chipping! Very consistent greens! Will play again!👍🤗
What’s with the pins?
First off, the course is in good condition. That said, many of the hole placements on the west course were ridiculous. One was unplayable (and worse when it dried out more).
Bunkers need sand!!
I'm happy with nearly everything about both Glen courses except the lack of sand in their bunkers and I'll continue giving 2 star ratings to both for that reason only. You're only chance for an up and down is to try and "pick" the ball without taking any sand. If you try to play a standard bunker shot, your club bounces off the hard pan hidden about an inch under the sand with an excellent chance of a skulled shot. Once they put sand in the bunkers, I'll go back to a more generous 4/5 star rating as I've always enjoyed playing both courses.
Short but nice to play
Cours was in very good condition and nice to play. Most holes play short and straight but have some charm. Nice neighborhood friendly staff and golfers.
Not much of practice range but enough to warm up.
