Broadmoor
I can see why they were offering great deals - they had just airiated and sanded the greens! It was like putting in a sand trap. The rest of the course was in really nice shape and there were very few players.
Tough but fair-fast great greens
Played in 100+ degree weather. Some fairways a bit dry, but that just means more roll! Great fast greens, Staff very friendly, good bar & restaurant. Close to Vancouver & SW Washington.
Broadmoor
Easy course to walk except for the steep hill up to both the 9th and 18th greens. Fairways were great. The greens were cut very short and were a little bumpy and fairly fast. We saw a eight point buck in velvet run across the fairway on number five.
This course is one of my favorites
This course has many fun holes with elevation changes that make it challenging. Great job on keeping the course up to par.
Almost excellent codition
Greens, fairways, lawn areas in great shape. Bunkers need sand and need to be maintained. Overall a great value and excellent condition course.
Parkland style course
Large trees come into plan on most holes, fairways and greens in moderate condition. No driving range, but practice green available.
needs water
A little water goes a long way...because the greens are hard as cement. I hit several greens but nothing sticks. Not even a divot from the ball. It looked like it was recently sanded. Why? Sand firms up the green when it's soggy and wet. We have not had rain for weeks. I'll stay at Rose City.
Golf at broadmoor
I had an 8am tee time with my oldest son on his bday. We got right one and hardly had to wait at all. We paired with a twosome in front of us as well. Greens were nice and staff was phenominal. I played horrible but that's on me. Great experience one of my favorite courses in Oregon.
It is what it is
Enjoyed playing this course for the first time. I like the laid back feel of it, but, I have heard raves about how the greens are so great….they were good, not great.
The 10th is a bit confusing, with one green for the ladies, and another for men…they should have a sign to indicate this on the tee box. Definitely a few good challenging holes, no doubt it will be easier next time around, now that I know where to go on each hole.It was a bit strange to have our tickets checked at the snack shack on the way to the 2nd tee, vs traditional starter at 1st tee. Glad I played it, and hope to play it again soon!
Good Course, Good Value
We play this course a couple of times per year. It's a solid track. Greens are always in good shape and some challenging holes. Par 5's have teeth. Good value. We played at 11AM on a Sunday and paid $35. Only thing they could add would be a driving range.
Great value!
I play this course a lot. It has a wide range of holes that play from a wide range of distances. You will work on all aspects of your game. The course can get really soggy in the fall and early spring, so I do recommend playing it in the summer when it is in its best condition. The deal before 8 am can't be beat.
Best greens for 'old style golf course '
I don't know why but I just really enjoy this golf course. There are some easy holes and some challenging holes, but a nice variety. The greens are always fast and smooth compared with other similar courses. In the summer they don't over water like a lot of PDX courses so it firms up and the ball rolls further. You can play it on the ground a lot of the time and are not always forced to go high to keep a ball on the green.
Great Course and Great Food
I have been playing this course for over 30 years and for several years was a member of the men's club. It has always been well-maintained and is a fun course play. A plus is that the clubhouse restaurant serves excellent meals. A minus that there is no driving range.
