First Tee / 9th green Photo submitted by RyanBam on 08/17/2020
Ideal for this senior
The nine-hole Claremont layout is part of a retirement community and seems to be designed for seniors but can be enjoyed by younger and players at all levels. It's generally well maintained, but there are a few patches of rough with long grass or mushy turf that I've lost balls in.
The staff is friendly and easy-going. I haven't noticed any issues with the pace of play, but I don't play on weekends.
A refreshment cart goes around, but there's no 19th Hole facilities.
Slow play
SLOW PLAY!
i there war a solo in front of me do i teed off when he holed out on the 1st hole. I was also a solo. I was playing a relaxed round and caught up with him on the 4 hole.
He was playing 4 balls! He let me play thru on the 9th hole! Ive seen people play 2 balls, but 4 balls!, really! common sense or courtesy!
Slow play
I had a 8am tee time as a single, there was a single before me so i teed off when he started putting on hole 1. I caught up with him on the par 3 3rd hole and he was playing 4balls! I never bothered to look back until the 6th hole( still playing 4 balls!).
A little common sense and common courtesy!
It maybe too early for a marshal to be on the course , but if your a single player please limit your practice round to 2 balls and check if anyone is waiting on the tee boxes!
Finally a course with amenities
Played three courses in one week. This was the only one not soggy, provided great signage, provided T box trash cans, ball washing. All aspects of the course in great shape
Rainy days
The course seemed to have withstood the 3 inches of rain that preceded my round. There were some wet spots but overall the greens and fairways were in great shape with no huge puddles. There wasn’t much role on drives or second shots into the green but balls didn’t seem to plug into the ground either. I used a push cart and didn’t gwt to wet. .
This course is set in a residential neighborhood with homes and roads around most holes. Staff was friendly and welcoming. 9 hole corse that has two par fives, a couple of exacting par 3’s, and par fours with enough hazards to force strategy and thought about club selection but also forgiving for average players like me.
Enjoyable round.
Great course for lunch time play
Claremont is close to my house so decided to check it out and I have to say I love it. Greens are kept well. Even during winter wet play, there aren't many serious low lying soggy places and great great prices.
