Great Course/Great Price
Glendoveer is a great place to play. They have two courses and each one is a little different from the other. The course is in good shape. Short distances from greens to the next tee box, but the course is hilly overall. It’s my favorite public course in Portland.
Slow but fun twilight niner
About to tee off at 5:54 and two cartloads of tournament players come barreling around the turn from their shotgun start incredulous that we are about to tee off. They are the final group and they play ahead and they’re good so we never see them again because for some reason we are a fivesome.
Course was in great condition, playing partners were super nice, bunkers were everywhere! I only played nine, but I bet the others got in another 3 holes before dark. And the price was absurdly low.
Great Public Course
My second time playing the East course. Even after a couple days of rain, the course was in great shape. Pace a play was a little on the slow side - but it was a holiday. Took just over 4 hours. The course is a challenging 18 holes. The East course is definitely more difficult than the West course. I would recommend.
The bbq at the brewery smelled amazing. Wish I had time to grab a bite.
Got Sand?
The course right now is probably in as good a shape as it gets. That is, except for the bunkers. Man, you never know what you're going to get. Even when it looks like there's sand, you're better off trying to pick the ball out, much like a shot from around the greens. I like both courses and have no complaints about anything else.
Summertime playing in June
Near 90 and the course is in beautiful condition. The greens were not particularly fast but firm. The fairways are trimmed and almost completely weed free. Great place to play again and again.
Fun Course
6 par 5s. Lots of hills. Some unique hole layouts. Forgiving course with wayward tee shots. Really like this course.
Pace of play
They could do a better job speeding up the play. Had to wait an average of 5 minutes from holes 1 through 9. They have starters but where are the marshalls? Marshalls really help keeping the pace of play good for all players not just the slow ones.
Perfect
Came to the first tee and no one was in front of us. The day moved along at a tremendous pace we established and we enjoyed a beautiful day, fantastic course and good scores! This is what we have been waiting for, get out there soon and you will not regret it!
Glendoveer east
4 1/2 hr round a little longer than I like. The course and weather were perfect.
Nice course, normally.
I really like this course under good conditions, however there were 2 issues. 1) The bunkers were terrible, 2) The rough needs to be cut. People looking for balls just off the fairways slowed play significantly. Other than that it was in very good condition for this time of the year.
Fun hilly course
First time out in 12 months and played east side which is supposed to be more difficult that the west side due to narrower fairways. Fairways were wide open and no issues. Little slushy in parts with early spring conditions but I will play again
MUDDY!!
We haven't played Glendoveer this muddy in quite some time. I would recommend this course, but wait until it dries .out.
Excellent value
65° day in March. $35 for 18. Course was in great shape. Expected it to be soggy, but it really wasn’t. Wish they’d had a drink cart going around. Pull carts not that impressive. The value, though, was excellent. Will definitely play again at that price.
