Gets your attention
The raised greens were difficult but fun. Course was bumpy ride in the cart, a little dry so got some good roll. Friendly place. Enjoyed the day.
Cautionary Tale
Oregon has had record heat this summer and water conservation is important. That said we can understand why not all of the tee boxes have been watered but for over half of them the ground was so hard you had to have a hammer to get your tee in. Several greens were not maintained well to being almost ground under repair. The 12 hole had the flag on a mound that was virtually impossible to make. Almost like a Put-Put hole. The course is extremely long. For $20 not a bad deal but I don't know if I would pay the $32.
Course was in overall terrible conditon
The fairways were Brown and didn't look like they'd been watered all summer. The tee boxes were so hard you couldn't get a tee in the ground. The only good thing about the course was that the greens where in pretty decent shape and looks like they've been watered but it was brown and hard on the approach to the greens. Staff is always friendly, but ither than that, it was very disappointing
Very Nice Old Fashion Course
Wife and I Played 9 holes with a cart. Greens Fast and smooth. 8th Green very interesting(Double Green with a DIP) Alderbrook has been around for a long time. Brook meanders through course. A feel good round of golf. 18 holes.Pro Shop staff very friendly Will play again.
Poor course conditions
Very dry fairways that give you distance, but not worth it. The course has not improved at all over a year ago. It is in worse shape. No bar or food on Mondays during the summer - unbelievable! The back none is in especially poor shape.
Don't travel long distance to play!
Dry bumpy fairways and wet, soggy aprons around the greens. No bump and run here. Some tee boxes in terrible condition. Blackberry vines and tree limbs along cart paths, some scraping the cart roof. Only available golf course close to Rockaway Beach, Or.
?
Great views--poorly maintained--80% greens horrible--staff pro shop great--probaly not play it again-- it seems the owner does not take golf serious. to bad great possabilities.
Fun Course and Great Staff
I have played this course a few times every year for the past 10 years and it seems to get a little nicer every time. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The course was out of carts due to a men's league but the staff quickly turned a few for us as soon as they arrived. If you like a drink before or with your round, you need to try the Bloody Mary, its delicious.
Great Value
The Golf Now rate made this course a great value. For us, the layout was fun and challenging and the multitude of old, beautiful trees lining the fairways made for a very enjoyable outing. We played this course twice during a two week visit to the Tillamook, OR area coast.
Decent course, nice people
We come to the Oregon coast a couple times a year, and this course has us dragging our clubs down every time.
Several years ago, they built a beautiful clubhouse ( complete with restaurant and nice bar), and did a complete redo of the front nine. Over the next couple years, they made a few changes to the back nine, so it almost has the feel of playing two different courses. Not necessarily a bad thing.
As stated in several other reviews, 15 is a short, vertical hole. If you don't make the green, you're in for a challenging walk and a steep uphill shot.
As far as the people go, Andy Neal in the Pro Shop is a great asset to the facility.
This course had no features on Mondays
It was a little gray and wet outside, so very few golfers on course, made it nice for us. I like the course, it has variety and gorgeous scenery. A few of the fairways are a little dry and hard to hit from for me, but still fun.
Great value
This course is challenging with small greens and tough pin placements on par 3.
Great price when you use golf now
We enjoyed our round of golf. This course has 1 uphill hole #14. very steep to walk. you just have to take your time. easy course to walk. Windy.. just cuz its close to the beach.
Course review.
If you are up for some challenges this is the course for you. Greens are quick and slopes are all over. You definitely need a cart to go and climb some of the hills. Very challenging holes. Very scenic and well-maintained.
Great course with some tough elevated holes
It was my first time playing this course and I would definitely recommend it. Some beautiful views and awesome elevation holes. The greens were in great shape as well.
