Quality 9 holes
This is one of the better kept courses considering the drought. Perhaps the recent rains helped but overall the course was in good shape. A couple of the greens could have use a little mowing and upkeep but overall it was a good course. We were stuck behind a group of three foursome that slowed down our play with no marshals in sight...
More Pus carts
Great course when people don’t act like it’s their own private course. We had a pair in front of us taking their time and not keeping pace with the group in front of them. Turns out these guys were playing multiple balls over and over again.
Good course for all levels of skill
My first time playing this course and I had a good experience. The staff is friendly. Just one negative I want to mention: I booked this on teeoff.com and teeoff.com charged my credit card 15% of the green fee at the time of booking. It was my bad that I didn't pay attention that they charge the full amount when I checked in. This was the first time this happened to me.
Always Enjoy Altadena!
A relaxed and casual atmosphere. Greens are good and the fairways are in decent shape. Altadena is a great place to enjoy 9 holes. Enjoy!
Emergency 9
I played here for the first time. Solo single round and finished in under two hours. It’s a great facility to learn how to play, and get some practice in. Definitely putting it into my weekday rotation of places to practice after work. I recommend come here with low expectations and be pleasantly suprised.
Pros:
-tee-times are plentiful
-Greens are in playable shape
-Holes are great for learning how to play
-Very walkable
-Grass range
-Multiple short game areas
-Great practice green
Cons:
-Fairways & Tee-box conditions are to be desired, and make it feel like a bit of a dog track
Poor course conditions
Friendly staff and nice amenities, but very poor course conditions. Greens were heavily sanded and difficult to get an accurate putt. I have no issue playing on that type of conditions if there were a disclaimer or discount for the poor conditions. The fact that they were charging full price for those conditions is laughable, and I will not be returning if the fees remain the same. This course is the quality of a public/municiple course, and is charging green fees like it is of much higher quality. Disappointed
Fun 9 Hole
Little gem tucked away in Altadena. Good length, with plenty of obstacles 🌲🌴 which provides plenty of shade in return.
Challenging but manageable. Perfect for a quick 9 holes after work or a discounted replay to get 18 in on the weekend.
Course in solid condition, greens roll faster on the putting range than the actual course so slightly slow but in good conditions for the most part. Faily easy, straight course but trouble can be found not in the fairway. Pace of play horrendous is the only downfall. Worth $22 definitely, but not sure I'd go again taking almost 5hrs to complete 18
Nice setting, decent layout
Overall, the course was fine. The greens are fairly small and ran like sandpaper on a warm, sunny day.
Nice course
Our first time at Altadena golf course with our grandkids, 10 & 7. Two adults and 2 kids. It was crowded but we did not have to wait long even though the group before us were walking. The kids did not get a discount because we did not know our grandkids have SCGA Jr membership so we did not ask. They charged $20 more for an additional
golf cart plus $5 for each kids.
The course is nice, some holes have thick grass so made it hard to find our balls if we did not hit straight. We each lost a few balls. Overall, we had a nice time with our grandkids.
