Fun Time
Great time at OGA. Course was in good shape and the rough was tough in spots. If it's your first time, download the hole guide on google. Will really help with course knowledge.Having played it for first time in 20 years, I want to go back now that I know what's out there.
Bunkers come into play quite a bit. Many shots you won't be able to get both feet in.
Cart service was speedy.
Beautiful Day in the Willamette Valley!
We were joined by a couple of locals that were some of the nicest guys we have ever met on a golf course. The course itself was in great shape, challenging and fun. Pace of play was slightly slow but the back nine went a bit faster and we finished in about 4.5 hrs. The course has some elevation changes and is lined by nice homes on some of the holes. Some water that doesn't really come into play and a couple of interesting holes requiring layups off the tee. The weather was spectacular, big puffy clouds and quite a bit of sun. The ranger was very nice as was one of the groundsmen working the course. Our first round of golf in the Valley and one we will not forget! The greens were also fairly quick and true.
LOVE THIS GAME
every thing was great except the bunkers. very little attention in keeping them groomed. the sprinklers conditioned the bunkers. hard as a rock not raked & not groomed. too bad for a course as good as the OREGON GOLF ASSOCIATION HOME should represent.
First time and worth it.
The OGA course was a great experience. It was in great condition from tee box to green. It did have some of the fastest greens I have ever played on.
OGA review
Course was in great shape, i had trouble with greens though, did not read them well
Great Golf
The Course has a great layout and the staff is friendly , the beverage cart showed up multiple times and the course was in great shape..
Play the OGA
Very nice course, with a few "tricky" holes that demand you know where you're going and how to get there. I didn't look into getting a layout book for the course in the pro shop; maybe there is one. In any event, ask the pro which holes need "advance information" in order to play them well.
For example,on one of these couple of holes, I hit a perfect 3-wood right at the 150 yard sign, but there is a severe downslope just beyond that sign; so I went into the pucker brush unwittingly. So I should have hit, at most, a 5-wood. This is a hole where the course apparently wants you to hit a second shot of about 150 yards. So hit to the sign and stop there -- you don't want to go into the pucker brush, and you don't even want to try to hit off the severe downhill lie that results if you go very far past the 150 yard sign!
official should speed up play
Nice course---great layout-----convenient location---need to do a better job of speeding up slow players.
The bunkers need work
I have played this course several times and it is always a challenge. It is a well laid out course and has several challenges. But every time I have played it I have found that the bunkers need work. All of them need sand and many of them are rock solid. So if you hit it in a bunker be warned. I consider myself to be a good bunker player, but the bunkers should be sand and not hard pan. I will play this course again. And If I end up in a bunker I know I will also be disappointed again.
Course was in excellent condition - worth playing
On a busy day, everyone kept play moving along. The greens were fast but fair to play. All staff were friendly.
Lucky Oregon
The OGA course is always a treat to play. We Oregonians are lucky to have such a quality course
available as a public venue.
Extremely pleasant round
Played with 3 very pleasant people - all walkers - the way golf should be played. Course was in excellent condition; greens had been sliced but had healed significantly.
Greens were flawless
Easily purest greens in the area!
Fun yet tough hopes!
Combined both excitement and tough holes.
Greens were awesomely fast and true.
Nice Greens!
Very nice layout as it winds through a housing development. The course was in pretty good shape considering all the rain we have had recently. Play was a little slow but probably because course was full as it was a rare 60+ degree day in February! OGA is a nice challenge for all handicaps. We'll watch golf now for another deal and come back again!
Good winter course
Greens were in awesome shape, fairways were soft as we plugged a few balls but considering all the rain it wasn't bad. Restaurant hasn't been open both times we've played here this year and I swear I booked a hot deal that included carts but we had to pay for the carts when we got there although Jason handled that pretty well. (I've had this issue with Golf Now a couple of times so I think there is a disconnect between the courses and the website somehow). As for the course on a hot deal this is definitely a course to visit... just bring your own food/beverages.
Very fair course, challenging holes and some easier holes for hackers like my self. Highly recommend it!
I live in Goose Hollow HOA near course and I find this course quite enjoyable and fair!
great value for a very nice course
The course was in fantastic shape for November 8th....dry fairways, perfect greens and great pace of play.....also loved the 25% off of the already great price offer they sent me....thanks
GREAT YEAR-ROUND COURSE
WE HAD 2 ins. OF RAIN THE DAY BEFORE AND THE COURSE WAS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE! ONLY 3 BUNKERS HAD WATER IN THEM, AND THE GROUND CREW HAD BEEN PUMPING THEM OUT!.......GREAT DAY.
