Needs some work
Course was pretty beat up. Many holes were large puddles or mud. We have had alot of rain lately but other courses are not this bad.
Starter paired us for a foursome but then put a few twosomes directly behind us which didn't make much sense.
Rough was very high. If a ball went in it you likely weren't finding it.
The girl at the grill was not the friendliest either.
Maybe will try the course again when we are in a drought.
Good morning out.
Have played here before on the weekends and it can be a little slow playing when crowded. This morning I walked 18 holes in under 3 hours. Course was in decent shape, we have had a lot of rain so some of the fairways were pretty tore up in spots. Greens were good though.
Great course
The course was in the best condition it could be due to the rain forest weather we have lived in. I know it will be even better during this season since we will not hopefully have that weather this year. Its a challenging course that people from Berks county and from a far should play I’ll be back multiple times this season thank you Iron lakes for your beautiful facility and awesome hospitality
Nice layout
I play this course quite often in all seasons and this year the wet summer took a toll on the course but they have done a great job of fixing most of the fairways and the greens are in very good shape. The Pro Thor is a class act and always friendly
Review from 9/19/18
The staff is great. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great day. The course was still recovering from all the rain we had but they were working on it to get everything back to normal. I love this course and will play it again.
okay practice course
okay practice course if you leave nearby.
Course still has sign of bad summer - spots with no grass on fairway, stinky lake at 18th hole.
Green is in good condition but could be better if people repaired their ball marks.
Average course
Only golfed 9 holes since they paired us up with people who were not very good golfers and slowed down play. Disappointing day
Interesting layout
Nice course sand bunkers need updating. Trees need trimming at the bottom to ease up play. friendly staff. Fairways and 2nd cuts are well maintain. Greens are in excellent shape. Overall nice course to play
Ok
The course was in good shape but due to league activity, play was extremely slow.
Friendly and helpful staff
The course is very nice, Good pace of play with challenging holes. The distinguishing aspect however was the staff. There was an issue with Golf Now and our reservation yet the lady and gentleman who helped us were so kind and accommodating. Our cart had an issue and they came right out to rescue us. We will definitely be back!
Very Nice Casual Course
Great time. Staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful. Course has two par 3’s over water making for a challenging but spectacular holes to play. Great fun course!
Enjoyable Round
This was my first time playing Iron Lakes but certainly not the last. Pulling into the parking lot I wasn’t expecting much but once you get on the course it turns into a beautiful and peaceful setting. Course was in great condition and pace of play was under 4 hours. Short Par 5s allow for plenty birdie opportunities, though I only carded one. I’ll be back again soon.
Iron Lakes
Par 4s are long and difficult while the par 5s are short and easy. Mix of par 3s that are straight forward but not easy. Rough is thick and so are the plentiful evergreens lining the front nine. Greens were okay but didn’t have much break. Course is in its best shape in years but still has draining issues in spots. Cart paths need some work. If you get a good rate it is worth every penny.
