Good Bye Limekiln
Probably was my last time playing Limekiln as it is closing this December. Greens were as fast as I can ever remember. The rough was cut short and the pace was quick. Not a bad thing to say about another local track being sold for houses. Thank you to the Simmons family for all the years!!!
Nice condition. beautiful day fast pace
The course had some dry grass spots but they didnt affect play just showed lack of rain, Course was in nice shape. Finished 18 in 3.5 hours.
Do not expect much
The rumors are true and the course is closing December 1st.
I understand they need to stop spending money on certain things but they need to start adjusting the cost to play since they no longer have fairways and tee boxes which are covered in weeds and bare spots... but then again they have always been a little full of them selves!
You can tell
You can tell the course will be closing at the end of the season forever. Maintenance has subsided with the exception of cutting the grass.
Rough shape
Fairways were really beat up, burnt and patchy. Crabgrass all over. No one repairs their marks on the green. Greens appeared to be painted and were painfully slow. No starter, there’s 3 nines so had to guess which one to go to. Receipt nor pro shop told us where to go.
Limekilns final season
Fairways were in terrible shape. Most traps not playable. Clearly not putting money into since it is closing end of year. We were a twosome and there early but they wouldn’t let us go out then and made us wait behind two bigger/slower groups.
another one bites the dust
Need to it your approach shot high as there is usually a sand trap to carry to get to get to the pin.It seems a little artificially contrived defense to me. Whites were beat up so if the blues were in the area we used them. Fairways a little barren but rough was fine. Greens were good while some of the traps still had puddles. I did enjoy the no thrills par 3.s. I will try to play again before the fat lady sings but only with a hot deal.
Solid Course
This ia good option just to play and enjoy a Saturday afternoon. There are no major thrills or remarkable holes but this is a solid performer and the course is well maintained.
Blue/Red course in good shape
Limekiln is almost always an enjoyable round. Course was in good shape although there were a couple greens that had gouge marks in them (animal problem?) but not enough to affect our putts. We did spend some time fixing other golfers ball marks. Windy conditions made it a little more challenging but overall it was a good day.
Sorry to see it go
I've played Limekiln several times and felt the course was in the best condition I have ever seen it. The pace of play was amazing - under four hours to play the Blue/Red course. My son and I had a wonderful time out there playing and we'll be sorry to see this course go with its sale.
Great time
My buddies and i booked this at the last minute. We love it. The staff was courteous and friendly. It's a shame that it's closing on December 1st otherwise we would be back. Also the staff in the pub were nice friendly and kind.
Great course
This course is great to play. Has it own set of challenges and a lot of dog legs. I had a great time and would play here again
Bad condition and bad service
