Fun, Short 9 hole course

This course used to be a full 18 hole course but is now just a 9 hole course. The holes that were retained from the 18 hole course are Holes 2-10, with old hole 3 as the new 1st hole and old hole 2 as the 9th hole. Old 10th hole is now #8. The reason I mention this is because I've been paired up with or ran into golfers that expected this to be an 18 hole course. The course does offer an 18 hole rate but you play the same 9 twice. Willow Brook is not very long but the holes definitely have some variety and some can be tight driving holes with woods right and left. The green sizes vary but the breaks and undulation is very subtle. There aren't many holes were you have to play the break way outside the hole if you are within 20 feet and I would rate the speed of greens as pretty consistent. The conditions of the tee boxes, fairways, rough, and greens are not impeccable but they are better than average and when you factor in the price ($20 walking on weekends, $29/ride) its a one of the better values in the Lehigh Valley.

Spartan Conditions

Maybe because of the rain, the fairways grass was long. Tees were uneven and greens were slow and bumpy. A couple of interesting holes. #2 was a par 4, with a decision to be made, after your tee shot on whether to go for the green or layup. Front 9 does not return to clubhouse and half way house was closed.

Best course in the Lehigh Valley

Outstanding facilities, staff, value. Challenging holes -- but not anything to be intimidated by. Other review eloquently broke down all the holes, so I'll save you the time and trouble. Book your tee time today!

One of my favorites

This course is a nice little gem and probably one of (if not) my overall favorite. Nice array of holes that keep things interesting, but also nothing too daunting for a beginner. A couple short par 3s help that.

The back 9 has some very memorable holes - a blind up hill tee shot on 10, downhill dog leg right on 11. 12 is a 90% turn and a strong driver may be able to driver the dog leg. 13 is a long flat par 5 then back to a short par 3.

It's just great, everything about it. The price, the halfway house, even some interesting water hazards.

This isn't Pebble Beach or Augusta, but it is a nicely maintained course which is perfect for everyone.
