Stone Hedge Country Club
About
The Endless Mountains surround Stone Hedge Golf Course in Factoryville, providing a scenic landscape of lush, rolling hills and grassy meadows covered with mature trees. The layout offers a variety of fairways that range from generous and wide-open to narrow and tree-lined. The true, fast greens offer a challenging but fair test. Each hole has a unique character, offering different challenges that include strategically placed bunkers and tricky doglegs. There is also ample water coming into play throughout the golf course. The course starts in a valley surrounded by hills but moves into the woodlands on the back nine. The first nine holes are more forgiving than the latter half of the course. The excellent service and well designed layout have earned Stone Hedge G.C. the reputation of being one of the best golf courses in the Northeast.

great round
course in excellent shape and great deal on the price. can't wait to go back
wonderful saturday afternoon
long summer days in the endless mountains on one of the nicest golf courses in northeast pa. Great rate from golf now. couldn't get any better!
Wonderful Layout
This course is cut beautifully into the mountains/hills of NEPA. The layout is outstanding and every hole holds it's own on the course. The fairways are well maintained and the greens are perfection. The only negatives are the sand bunkers that are a bit muddy-like and some of the staff can be pretty short with you. But all in all definitely recommended and very enjoyable round of golf!
Great but difficult course!
I would only recommend this course for good golfers. It is beautiful, but long, hilly, and narrow. The greens are in great shape but very fast with a lot of run out.
wonderful place to play
Great views from most holes and course in excellent condition despite recent rain. Played weekday PM and play was fast. Beware of fast and difficult greens. Lots of fun holes.
Hidden gem!
Stunner of a course nestled in between Scranton and Tunkhannock.
Challenging!
I have played this course many times and it is a very challenging layout; you will use every club in your bag, especially from the back tees. Greens are huge, a GPS unit is a must here! The only thing that holds this course back from being 5-star is the condition of tees and bunkers. Many tees are crowned, and bunkers could use some fresh sand. Otherwise great overall conditions.
Glorious place for golf
With weather that is perfect - sunny, breezy, dry, cool - a sparsely populated course on a weekday - nearly every hole was breath-taking if you stopped to take it in and appreciate it. The wholes on this course are amazing. Doesn't need a high rough to make it challenging, the design is enough. And don't have to waste time finding your ball. Your score can fluctuate wildly on this course, but you always want to come back.
Great place to play!!
This course just took on a lot of rain, and was wet or had areas washed out. Bunkers weren't too nice, some even filled w/ puddles. Other than that, this place is excellent! Great set-up. Nice design. Superb greens. Beautiful scenery. I recommend this to everybody! Go check out Stonehedge!!
Great ammenities
The new club house is fantastic with great food, drink and views. The bunkers still require some attention but the greens are fast and challenging.
Stonehedge is worth the trip
My cousin Bob and I played the course on 04/14/14 during the fluke 75° early spring warm snap. It was very windy on the course, so we were thankful for the sun and warmth. We booked our tee time through Golfnow and arrived a half hour early. I'm glad we did, because the course had no record of our tee time being booked through Golfnow. Thankfully, I had saved the confirmation email on my phone. They quickly honored the prepaid tee time and got us out without issue.....The lesson here is to ALWAYS bring the confirmation with you...The course was in superb shape for so early in the season. The layout and conditioning here are always top notch and the design is pretty and challenging. Hole #2 will forever be burned into your mind, as will the view from the new clubhouse. This is a really nice course for not alot of scratch. We drive the hour down from Binghamton three times a year to play it. Make the time to stop in at Bingham's restaurant along the route too.
Going Downhill
This was a great course a few years ago but has since lost its luster. Perhaps they simply put all their resources into the clubhouse and there's nothing left for the course. I have never seen greens destroyed by ball marks like I saw here. Some of the greens were so bumpy they were unplayable. Several of the tee boxes were spotty/uneven and at least a handful of bunkers were nothing more than dirt fill and rocks.
I'd seriously suggest looking elsewhere for a premium daily fee course. Conklin, Hiawatha, Woodloch, Jack Frost, Blue Ridge, heck even Wilkes-Barre and Panorama are better options.
Course was is great condition
The course was in amazing shape. It was a 5 hour round but with a course this challenging it was to be expected.
Favorite Course
Love the greens, course in in great shape friendly staff
Best greens on a public course..
If you are looking for a challenging course with the best greens in the area play Stonehedge. The course offers all the variety you need and each hole is unique from the next. One of my favorites to play and with the deal from Golf now it can't be beat. Bring your game ( a few extra balls) and enjoy.
Coarse well maintained
The coase was in great shape considering all the rain. Greens were well maintained and fast
A MUST PLAY!
Boasting a new clubhouse and some of the best greens in the area regardless of public or private facilities, Stonehedge remains a must play in Northeast Pennsylvania. The rough was brutal! The pace of play could have been better. However with the golf course being as challenging as it is I totally understand why it takes some extra time to get through all 18 holes.
Challenging
Nice course, worth the $26 paid, would pay max of 35 during peak times
