Beechwood Golf Club
About
Beechwood Golf Club opened in 1995 as a nine-hole course. The now-18-hole layout got new owners in 2013 and with the new ownership came a host of updates and improvements but the fun, straightforward character was maintained. The course is more playable while still being a challenge, making it appealing for players of all skill levels. Beginners will find the 6,485-yard layout very approachable. The front nine provides a gentle start to the course. It's mostly wide-open with wide, forgiving fairways. There are opportunities to build up your score before diving into Beechwood Golf Club's tougher back nine. The layout narrows and there are more trees as well as more bunkers. Though there are a few challenges in store, including one hole with an island green, it's a player friendly round overall.

Great value
Course layout is interesting for all skill levels. Green were in very good condition and slope ratings appropriate and consistent. Staff are excellent. New ownership developing and improving the course. Some cart paths a little bumpy. Had sanwiches at the restaurant that were great. Definitely worth the trip.
Inexpensive yet challenging
Great course! Staff is always on point and ready to provide quality service. Highly recommend playing Beechwood!
Challenging course
Played this round with family and did it on a Hot Deal so the price was right . This is the second time I played this course and the first was many years ago . I would say it has improved greatly . Very challenging for average golfers , lots of water and some blind shots ,but we had a good time and I am sure we will be going back again . I will say we grabbed some hotdogs at the turn and was disappointed because they looked good with some grill marks but after we bit into them they were all cold , really my only complaint !
Great people
I played this course about 15 years ago. At that time the people were rude and not caring. This time was completely different. From the time we got there until we left after our round and lunch afterward, everyone was great. They really made you feel like you mattered to them. The course was in very good shape considering all the wet weather we have had, The greens were fast and rolled true. Our approaches held well and we didn't find many bad spots in the fairways. All in all a very enjoyable day.
Solid course. Challenging
COurse was in good shape. It's bee na long time since I played here. Friends told me that it was starting to turn around and after playing here I agree. Greens rolled great, fairways are well definted and the bar and grill ahs some great food.
Getting much better!
Have played this course for many years and have to give management a thumbs up.
They clearly are making this a worth while place to play.
Greens have never been better and for the first time there is actual fairways.
Would actually give a 3.5 Stars
Great clubhouse and good food FYI
Talk About Improvements...
I've been golfing Beechwood for the past 3 years and it has only improved each and every time. The greens roll true, the fairways are getting great definition from the roughs, and you can get drinks or a great meal after! So that's a huge bonus.
If your looking for a convenient golf course right off the highway, this would be perfect for you!
Every year it get better!
I've been playing this course for a couple years now and every year it gets better. Fairways are really starting to come in good and the greens have been rolling great! I would definitely recommend this to a friend. The front 9 is a bit more open and a great course for beginners, and the back 9 provides a great challenge with an island green and tree lined fairways.
It's Eeire........
Used Golf Now-"Hot Deal". Played 18 in 3 1/2 hours.
Greens were in nice shape, except a couple with minor issues. Fairways were ok but some of the deeper rough needed mowed. Staff friendly. Would play again using hot deal.
Layout is bad
The overall is very poor and packed together with no defined fairways making it difficult to determine which green you are teeing off towards. On top of that they have an 18 hole "Foot Golf" course packed onto the front 9 making it 100 times more difficult to navigate the front 9. Had a breakdown of cart after 4 holes which was taken care of but ours along with whoever else had recently (2 other carts we noticed during the round) were all left abandoned in the middle of the fairway. Too many other courses nearby to come back here.
Needs help
Hard to tell difference between fairways and rough. Fairways were like not cutting your grass at home for a week. Had a 12:30pm tee time and was there early but gave that tee time to someone else.
Good couse
Also has a footgolf course that looks like a lot of fun. Must give it a try.
Getaway from the family!
Spent the week camping with the family in Erie, PA. Found Beechwood on GolfNow and thought I would give it a shot. Great deal - played at 11:00 AM for only $10!
When staying in Erie I will definitely be playing at Beechwood again - good value and really easy to find, right on I-90.
This course has new owners and they're raising the bar.
The course is under much better care than previous years and ownership has shown commitment to continue maintaining the golf course well.
Additionally, great food and a very friendly staff!
Needs a lot of maintenance
The nicest thing about this course is the deck overlooking the 9th and 10th green. The greens are slow and shaggy. The front 9 seems like it was built on land that was used to grow corn. The back 9 was a slight improvement as it was cut through the trees but the shade of the trees and the improper grass that had shade on it at several points during the day makes it poor to hit off of. It should be the least expensive place to play in town and it is not. Go have lunch here...don't play golf.
