Mountain Air CC, Burnsville NC, High above the cares of the world!!

Mountain Air CC Golf course is beautiful, sitting at 4600 feet above the clouds around us near Burnsville, NC. If you get a chance to play you should. I have been a member here for many years starting when I was a 6 handicap and now, as a senior citizen, a much higher handicap. The course is not long. But you must be able to find the fairways as off the fairways may take you down 500 feet into a valley or have you standing in the rough with your left foot high and your right foot 3 feet below you as you try to rescue your score on the hole. Finding a level spot at Mountain Air is a challenge and members know where every one of them is. I also give first time visitors a few extra shots as the greens will water your eyes if you don’t know where to try to stop the ball on a putt. Remember the ball always goes toward the view. Sometimes the view is not that clear and our course superintendent puts a small hill in the way to really confuse the player. The community is great made up a entrepreneurs, businessmen, doctors, lawyers, and great families. The staff is wonderful and willing to set you up any way you need to be. If you are near Asheville, come visit us and ask for Wild Bill. I will invite you to play for a few quarters and have a great time at a great golf course. WB, Lt. Colonel, USAF Retired
