Greencastle Golf Club
About
Greencastle Golf Club covers more than 200 acres of lush, rolling countryside studded with mature trees and tranquil ponds. The winding layout has many doglegs and incorporates a variety of elevation changes. Golfers should be prepared for a fair amount of blind shots as well as uneven lies. The spacious golf course has several holes that will please long hitters, but this layout will test your accuracy and course-management skills too. Water comes into play most memorably on Greencastle's signature third hole where there is a man-made waterfall and fountain but the par-4 10th is the toughest. This hole has an island green that is cut in half by a large drop in elevation, a good test for the two following holes which are not any less challenging.

This course is in great condition
They are doing a great job on the course condition,
This is an excellent course for this area, well maintained and enjoyable to play
This course is well maintained and challenging to play. They have put all new cart paths in last year. Fairways are in good condition, greens are excellent, and secondary rough is also mowed, so it doesn't take time to find errant balls. There is considerable woods along some fairways and water to cross on 3 holes.
BEAUTIFUL COURSE
ALL-IN-ALL A GOOD COURSE.HAS POTENTIAL TO BE A GREAT COURSE(NEEDS A LITTLE GROOMING).CHALLENGING BUT FUN COURSE.IF YOU LIKE BENT GREENS,YOU'LL LOVE THIS COURSE.PUTTING THESE GREENS REQUIRES PAYING ATTENTION TO GRAIN DIRECTION.
Difficult for getting back in the game.
A friend of mine invited me to this course approximately a month ago after not playing golf for three years. It was not the course to start playing golf again. It is very challenging for the novice golfer but the upside is I came back to the course which I am doing this review and have improved my score. Every other course I have been to this summer I have placed better scores. This is one of the most challenging in the area but well worth the visit. If you enjoy challenges with some narrow fairways, and hilly terrain, this is the course for you. I will definetely visit again because of the challenge for me as a novice player.
Great views of surrounding area and some fantastic homes
I have played this course off and on for the past 15 years and I have never seen it in as nice of shape as it's in right now!
Worth the visit
A challenge from the back tees. Ladies tees well advanced - better than most courses. Made to feel welcome. Course in good condition especially the greens.
Great Price, Great Course
We played 18 holes in just over 4 hrs. There was a Marshal riding around keeping play moving.
Greencastle Greens Much Improved
Recently played Greencastle Greens for the first time in a few years. The course is greatly improved. The greens are outstanding and overall condition is excellent, especially when compared to previous experiences. Very helpful and friendly staff. The cart paths are also much improved. They had a customized GPS app for our phone that was very good but fully charged battery died after 9 holes. Next, time we will use one players phone on the front and another player's on the back. If you haven't tried Greencastle lately I highly recommend you give it a shot.
What a wonderful experience.
I commented to my dad, it's nice to see deer on the course instead of alligators. The only negative we had was when 2 teenagers were trying to skip ahead and play through faster than the groups in front and in back. It was a little unnerving, but we survived. It would nice to have these teens who play without adults to go through a golf courtesy course and any infractions would send them packing. They do this at amusement parks.
very tough but strategic course
Course can play difficult but not over whelming for beginners. Rough was trimmed, greens rolled true. Great value for 10 dollars a person off of golf now. Would definitely recommend a tee time off of golf now for this course
Excellent course. Day was rainy, course was still outstanding. Good drainage, would recommend course to anyone, already have.
Only complaint I have is that in your app it isn't clear that the price is per person and not the total cost for two. It should be made more clear. Other than that I like your concept.
Beautiful course. Maintained to a level of excellence. Challenging.
I can't wait to play this course again. Super super nice. Greens are tough to figure out. But they are great. Take all your clubs with you........cause you will need them all. I played this course a couple years ago and it was ok. Now the course is unbelievable. We drove 30 minutes to get there and well worth it. In my opinion there isn't a course in the area that compares to Greencastle Greens.
THe layout of the course is great.
The course is in great cindition. The greens are fast but excellent. Every hole is different. This course give you a chance to use many clubs in your bag. Definately will play ir again.
Course is in great shape, greens are fast, but roll true.
What a great deal from GolfNow...enjoyed the course. They have made many improvements to this course in the last couple of years. New cart paths, better sand traps...same great layout and greens.
The course was in excellent shape but the pace of play was slow
I would not hesitate to recommend the course to my friends
Played with the course record holder!!!
This course requires a ton of local knowledge to get thru. From the 1st hole what you see and what you get are 2 different things. We happened to play with the current course record holder (65) and he knew all of the ins and outs. The greens are fast but fair and are in GREAT shape!!!
Course was unique and challenging
I played this course for the first time last year. This year they have repaved all cart paths and updated landscaping around some unique holes; like number 3. With the exception of the first hole tee box, the course was in great shape. Moderately fast greens and well maintained fairways can be expected throughout. The course pace of play was good with the exception of one of our players, who was slower than a snail. I will, with out a doubt, play this course again this year.
Super fast greens
Course has a nice layout. Well maintained. Plenty of trouble but plenty of faiway to hit also with a less then perfect shot. STAY BELOW THE HOLE. If you leave yourself a downhill putt and miss the cup you are assured a moderate to long put back up the hill. All greens are consistant, so if you like fast greens.............
good value
very nice course for what you can play for. well maintained
