Excellent Tract!!

Pine Grove is a true gem! Big hitters should leave their drivers at home. This course is a true test of skill not power. Your will use all of your other clubs in the bag. Tree lines fairways lead to well bunkered and sloped greens that hesitate to hold your approach shots and your putt(s). Lakes and streams come into play on 11 holes and they cause you to think hard about where to place your tee shot. This is a thinking man's golf course. Brute power is only rewarded if you can keep it straight. Proper course management and a hot putter is the only way to score on this course.

Great bang for the buck

The course was great! I decided to book this as a last minute thing and boy was I surprised. For the course being so cheap I didn't expect much, but I will definitely be back again even if the course is full price. If you live within two hours of this course it is worth the drive. I can't wait to play there again!

Short Course requiring accuracy off the tee

Not very long (didn't even have blue tees set up) but don't let that fool you. There are a number of tee shots that require laying up short of water or shooting the gap between trees. Pretty cool layout and in pretty good condition as well. Plus only $30 for 18 and a cart, can't beat that!

Beautiful course with challenging greens

Wow. For $12 a piece cart included this place was a steal. Generally well maintained (with a few brown spots) this was a great course. It was challenging based on length and bunkers, and the greens were the fastest that I've ever played. I'm no golf pro but I've played at various country clubs and courses in Hilton Head. Wow these greens were fast, but again, a fresh challenge.

they just aerified the fairways and did not clean up the stuff

It was torture. We drove 1 1/2 hours from south Pgh to play here. I quit after 12 holes but my partners played through. Also the rest rooms are closed. I will try it again in the summer

Love It

Great layout, staff, maintained fairly well. Greens- can stop ball, yet they can be a tricky read and seem very fast in summer for a public course. If any negative, there are telephone wires going across #10 fairway. If u hit a good drive no need to worry. Just the right amount of water and sand. Yardages may play a little longer on some holes. Front vs. back is about equal. Started playing there this year with 3 other people. Everyone loves playing there.

Well kept secret

Only the second time I had played Pine Grove, and hadn't rememberd much, but was impressed all over again. Fantastic value and after a couple of days of poor weather, was extra-impressed by how well maintained this beautiful course was near the end of the season. A new favorite, I hope to be back soon!

Fun course!

Not a super long course. But the excellent greens require great shots. I had a blast here.
