Course is in great shape
With 3 different 9 hole courses you can play a different combination multiple times. Greens are in excellent condition.
Layout good greens slow
South Hills is 3 nine hole courses. All have elevated greens which provides a good challenge. Hilly course which provides challenge too. Nice layout very disappointed in the greens. Very slow. I guess they need to constantly water them but the grass is not such that would provide any speed.
Great course. Will be back for more.
One of the most challenging courses in the York/Adams area. Course in great shape. Some greens had some dead, chunky spots but overall couldn’t complain. Cup placement on the day of our round was VERY challenging. I recommend this course!
Good challenge!
Have not played here in decades, so it seemed like my first time. Lots of "hills" (are you surprised?) and good variety of hole shapes. Though several holes on the South Course border one another, they are lined by very mature trees, so the sightlines are good and become hazards if you don't play the fairway angles properly. Greens were not is top shape (aeration and sand visible but 3-4 weeks old) but when they are it will be a nightmare for ready breaks. NO FLAT ROLLS ANYWHERE, my firends. Local knowledge is key, which we lacked. I'm not sure how you will play this course when the weather is hot and nothing stops. ENJOY!
Funtime
Overall experience was great. Greens were in good shape, fairways starting to grow, not bad for this time of year. Definitely would recommend playing these courses.
Early spring golf
Was in a three some today. About 50 degrees. Overall the course was not in bad shape for this time of year. Had a good golfing experience today. I would say to golfers, come out and play before it gets to crowded.
Great playing in February
Was in a foursome today, About 50 degrees out. Very sunny, beautiful day for golf. For this time of the year in south central PA. Playing golf on 2-17-2020. What’s better then that. No snow. The course and greens were not in top shape which is expected for this time of year but very playable. We all had a good time and will do it again.
Golfing in February
Played in a 3 some, not to many people playing today. February 4th, this area, fortunately no snow. Had a great 3 hour round. Rained a little in the morning but the course was very playable. Greens and fairways was in good shape for this time of year. Snack bar was open . Bought a pair of foot joys shoes in the club house. Definitely recommend playing this course. The people who work here are very helpful toward our needs.
Great
Played today in the middle of winter. Was in a threesome, had loads of fun. Great experience playing golf with friends at 38 degrees. Better then being a couch potato.
Playing in Jan
Greens, fairways for Jan 2 mid Atlantic state not bad for this time of the year. A little wet as expected but had a overall great time. Come out and play, that’s what I would say to all golfers.
Nice Course
Enjoyed playing the course. It was a little dry, but the greens were in good shape.
Winter golf not bad for this time of year.
Played the day after Christmas in Hanover PA. Temperature was about 50 degrees and sunny. Not too many people on the course, No problem with the pace of play. Greens were in good shape and fairways were what you would expect for this time of the year. Did not play out of the bunkers, many were frozen. Played in a threesome. Had a enjoyable round, was a good playing experience. Would recommend to come out and play on days like we had in winter.
Alternatively to being a couch potato
Played in a twosome today. Was a beautiful sunny fall day. Pace of play was not a concern considering the temperature of 50 degrees. The course overall was very playable, The greens for this time of year was in decent condition. Yes I would recommend playing this course. The value was reasonable . Overall all had a pleasant experience. Course can be challenging if you do not put the ball in the fairways. That’s what I love about playing this course, not boring.
Expectations met
Played west and north courses, fairways and greens were in good shape, pace of play was good. Overall experience playing today was very good. Would recommend to any golfer to play at south hills.
