Kimberton Golf Club
About
Kimberton Golf Club, which opened in 1962, has stood the test of time. Well known golf course designer George Fazio created a nice mix of holes about 45 minutes northwest of Philadelphia. The golf course isn't overly long and doesn't feature a lot of trouble, but it's long on fun. The signature par-4 third, a dogleg right around woods, is a pretty hole and worth the trip. Kimberton Golf Club is a just good old-fashioned, Philadelphia-style golf course.

Favorite Course
I love kimbo, they keep it nice and everyone that works there is friendly... Micky and Marie are the best!!!
Good day
The course was a little soggy but manageable. Not many other players which allow a two and a half hour round. The staff was friendly and courteous. A bit cold but no wind. Enjoy my day.
Nice day, no rain!
Although a little chilly and overcast, it was a good day. Met some nice guys from Rivercrest golf club. For the middle of December the course was in good shape. The greens were not super fast but were in great shape and ran true. Some tee boxes were a little overused in some spots and could have the markers moved more often. Jim the pro was very accommodating and the newly renovated bar area is nice. The golf cart could have used a windshield to block the wind chill created when driving it. I would definitely play again.
Course in great shape. The leftover snowfall left course wet. 90 degree Tee boxes and greens in great shape.
long time between playing
it had been 10 to 15 years since I have play the course........remembered nothing.......course was in nice shape with the weather we have had.....WET
greens rolled nicely tough to get speed.......all in all nice day of golf..........will be back in the near future
Good day
Friendly staff. Grass was higher then usual due to rain. Enjoyed the day. Played with a father and son duo. Nice day
Fun track
Hadn’t played here in 10 years. Nice to see it again and look forward to returning when I find a deal. Hopefully they will cut the rough down. It was quite high and we lost balls we thought we shouldn’t have. . The full rate of $55 was a little high. In my opinion. Will return for the right price.
Using Their Game
Ownership changed about the middle of last season. I think the children took over for the parents. A lot of new trees were planted. Old dying trees removed.
The greens were lush. Like many courses in the area the greens crew is having trouble keeping up with the grass. Spots are too wet to get equipment on. Not many on the course and on the 16th we found out why. Rain pounded us and my cart buddy went in. I put on my rain jacket and carried the last 3 holes. Feeling it this morning.
Glad you are enjoying the new changes... more on way! Our goal after purchasing from the family is to make Kimberton one of the most enjoyable experiences in the area. The course has such a great history and we are honored to be carrying it on and improving upon it. Thank you for the review, look forward to having you out again soon.
Good little course
Greens were in fantastic shape. Course is a very good value, some tricky holes. The bar is awesome! Food is good.
Well said, glad you enjoyed the course. Thanks for the review... great to see our hard work so well received
Enjoyable round
Course is always in good condition. Greens rolled smooth. Kimberton, while challenging, is a great place to go and just play golf. The course is right in front of you.
Thank you for the review and the kind words. We're having a great time putting in all the extra work it takes to stand out. Awesome to hear when people enjoy the course! We have a few new sets of back tees in the works, should really add a bit more challenge to those that want to test themselves.
Course was in good shape.
Comfortable pace. Friendly and courteous staff. I will lay there again.
nice course
this was 2nd or 3rd time playing this course. I enjoy playing here. Winter golf conditions so it is what it is. It is well kept in season. Will definitely be back. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed your day! Looking forward to having you back out during the season.

Better Then I Remembered
I was impressed that the corse conditions were good since the last time I played here. Tee boxes were in good shape, staff is great, course layout is pretty easy. Greens were lightening fast. I would definitely play here again. New Bar looks great
the course isn't the issue
i've played kimberton a lot. it's really a decent course, usually in pretty decent condition. and for $10 (including cart), it's almost a no-brainer.
almost.
i have never seen a ranger, nor have i ever seen a starter. which means you could have a foursome, single, single, double, foursome, single all tee off the first with no one sorting that out.
and because there's no ranger, people tend to jump around as they feel like. the front 9 went at a decent, 2-hour pace, but when i made the turn there was a foursome waiting at the tee and one that had just tee'd off. i could also see a group on the next tee who was waiting for a group in the fairway who was in turn waiting for a group hitting on to the green.
yikes. seems like more than 1 group had started off of #10.
so my playing partner and i did the only reasonable thing - we went and played the front 9 again.
if you can get there at a time when the course isn't busy, it's great. but sometimes you can find yourself behind a sixsome (i'm not kidding) or a group of novice players who stop in the middle of the fairway for a friendly discussion (they were nice, by the way, but i still had to go around them).
Worth playing for a discounted price
I wouldn't pay anywhere close to full price to play here, but for a Golf now discount, it's worth the time. I will say the greens were very challenging!
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Glad to have you back after some time. We've made a bunch of improvements in the last few years and love hearing from our players how much they are enjoying them. It's been a trying year for golf courses with all the rain to be sure, but our grounds staff has done a remarkable job keeping us is such great shape despite those challenges. Will definitely pass on your compliments to them as well. Hooe to see you out again soon!
