Kimberton Golf Club
About
Kimberton Golf Club, which opened in 1962, has stood the test of time. Well known golf course designer George Fazio created a nice mix of holes about 45 minutes northwest of Philadelphia. The golf course isn't overly long and doesn't feature a lot of trouble, but it's long on fun. The signature par-4 third, a dogleg right around woods, is a pretty hole and worth the trip. Kimberton Golf Club is a just good old-fashioned, Philadelphia-style golf course.

Great October day playing golf
Wonderful golf track with modest challenges that make it enjoyable. Fast greens and fairway elevation changes that keep you honest. Course was full but pace of play kept up. Great golf course.
Satisfied
Nice weather, good greens, a little dried out in places. A fair amount of gnarly grass if you got off the fairways, but free sides were very good.
Not what I expected.
I've played Kimberton several times over the years but this was the first time this year. I have to say I was a little disappointed in the condition of the course. The greens were link concrete and couldn't hold any shot. You could tell they were not watered for a few days. As for the rough, you couldn't find any of your balls hit over 100 yards because they haven't been mowed in a sometime. I still like the course but this was not what I expected.
Jammed Schedule
Pretty decent course for its price as well, but really could use some work on their tee time scheduling.
Sorry to hear the start of your round did not go a smoothly as usual. We practice 9 minute tee time intervals here with a "starter" catch up time every 90 minutes to allow for even better flow. Our players have been raving about 3 and 1/2 to 4 hour rounds all season since we instituted this policy. Hopefully you'll come back and try us again
Pace of play
Pace of play is key to any good review of a golf course and today was perfect especially on a hot day. Didn't wait at all today and finished the tound under 3 and half hours!
Priced high for conditions
Staff and everyone are very friendly but the course conditions are pretty bad and the price $35-40 is a little steep for those conditions. Lost so many balls because just off the fairway is like an overgrown backyard. Clover flowers everywhere. Greens more like all fringe, no break when putting. Very odd. It was still fun but overall I’d skip this course.
Great course, and good value!
Kimberton is a nice course, good layout and very few hazards that will get you in trouble. My last round was after a series of thunderstorms that left quite a few tree limbs down, but the course was well cleared afterwards and play was mainly not impacted. The staff was friendly and the food and beverage setup at Hole 12 was fabulous! Kudos to the staff for adapting to the COVID restrictions and keeping it friendly and fun!!
Pleasant Surprise
This course should definitely at 4 full stars. The course was in great shape. It's open for hackers like me, but there are enough variations to keep it interesting. I will definitely be back.
Thank you for your 5 star review! It's great to be back open and awesome to see people enjoying all the love we've put into the course these past few years
Kimberton Golf
For the middle of march the course was in good condition. The greens were true and fast. Grass is not growing yet so ruff was easy. Looks like they are making some improvements to some of the older bunkers and planted some new trees. Always good to see a course trying to improve. Repaving the cart paths would be nice as they are in need of repair in some places.
50 degrees in January
Other then the greens being very wet, the course was in good shape. Nothing the staff could do about the water other than close the course, so a little water was fine in my book. Had a great day.
Great day
I enjoyed playing today. Even though the course was wet I had an excellent experience. The foursome I was assigned had fun despite the slow pace. The staff as always was friendly and courteous. The weather cooperated and I felt comfortable all day. I traveled a distance to play this course and it was worth it. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your nice review of some mild winter golf at Kimberton! Glad you took the time to travel to us and had a great time. Hope to see you again soon!
Sorry to hear the experience you had at the club wasn't what you've been accustomed to. We've been hearing great things about the conditions lately, but it's always good to know when players don't have the same experience as others. Greens got firm and fast with with dry weather and wind lately, even with daily watering they still require some spin to hold when that happens. Our rough once you get more then 5-10 yards off the fairways is kept at 2.5-3 inches and is seen as a great equalizer for the course. Hopefully we'll see you back soon... we have recently areated, seeded and too dressed our greens which will make them much more receptive in the fall. Take care and stay safe!
