Spread out the tee times
The course is very nice and well kept the only issue is the pace of play. 9 minutes is not enough time in between tee times to get a decent round in. If you can’t spread it out more then there needs to be more accountability from the ranger telling people to speed it up.
Would avoid if possible
One is the slowest round of golf I’ve played. We found out by talking to groups around us that they book tee times ~5 min apart on a weekend in the summer, which should be criminal. Round took just about 5.5 hours. Most sand traps were rocky and had weeds growing in them. They were redoing traps on some holes that looked great, but that was only about 10% of all traps. Greens were slow and did not look cut or rolled. The holes did not have crisp edges and looked worse than the average public course. Staff was very friendly and drove around to provide us water as there are no fountains for refilling on the course. Half way house had good prices and great variety of food and beer. Would not recommend playing on weekend. Save the money and time and play twilight weekday.
Could be better
Im a 11 handicapper - course is very playable, but not in good condition (stones and grass growing from the bunkers). The staff think the course is the high class.. they try to hurry u up even when it’s packed.
I’ve spend multiple rounds over 8 year there, and would
Love the course to get better, not worse.
If u trying to have some fun and mess around, perfect course, if u r trying to score - look at pinecrest or skippack golf course
Course is fine just not really worth the price point
The fairways and greens were what I would expect any golf course to have but their bunkers aren’t even the least bit playable. At one point some of them looked like a giant clay pit and some were just dirt with weeds and rocks. We also got stuck behind some slow golfers so that didn’t help the pace of play. Starter was really nice though.
Nice course where you can score well
Other than "sand" traps, the course was in good condition. Moderately challenging, but a confidence builder for mid-to-high handicappers. I'll play here again.
Father's Day Outing
We booked 2 tee times for Father's Day family outing and had a great time. Pace was a bit slow but typical for Father's Day. We had a great time - many thanks to the staff!
Great course, but plan your bunker shots
Greens and tee boxes are great. Course is challenging. The bunkers are in poor condition so plan as a group on how you’ll play bunker shots because they are unplayable the way they are.
Been a while, I'll be back
I used to play at Mainland frequently 15-20 years ago but havent been there much since. We found a HotDeal and grabbed it, The course was in good shape with a one noted exception. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were all is pretty decent shape for a public course that gets a lot of play. The one notable exception were the bunkers, a couple had too much sand in them, a few had a thin layer and some had no sand at all. If all the bunkers were the same, I can deal with it, you have an idea of what to expect [bounce/no bounce] but when they lack consistency, it is just guessing how to handle the shot.
I will go back, hope they can make some progress on the bunkers before I do
Great course
Super fun course. They were long holes in short holes. The bunkers were not playable, but he wants to play a bunker anyway.
bunkers for whatever reason are unplayable, greens were in pretty good shape, i use to play this course every week, but i won’t be returning any time soon until i hear bunkers are repaired
The bunkers looked like they hadn’t been touched in a while and there were now rakes. There was grass growing in them and stones making them basically unplayable.
Course/Staff were terrible
Bunkers were completely awful and unplayable, the course in general was in poor condition and the starter was rude and wouldn't let my group play #1 because he had gotten ahead of schedule and didn't want to make room even though we were at the tee box on time. Absolutely will never play here again and a waste of money
