There are not many flat pieces of land on which to build a golf course in Western PA. Having said that parts of this course are the worst use of hilly terrain imaginable.

There are too many odd carries on this course to make it a pleasure to play. #8 gold limits your tee shot to less than 260 and then demands either a short club layup and a bomb of a 3 wood to reach in 3 or a Tiger Woods 3 wood and a short iron. There is no real comfortable second shot.

The green speeds range from quick to Oakmont quick and vary greatly from nine to nine.

Course knowledge is paramount here, to the point that a program like GolfLogix doesn't define hazards clearly enough and there are no caddies. Add a couple of blind shots and bad drainage areas and you have a course that is not cheap to play nor fair to play as it could be.
